  1. Byzantine A3 Anonymous Christ 1025 -1028 AD I choose the song Hallelujah, the cover by Jeff Buckley. It captures the sadness of the era people at this time were putting images of Christ on everything because they thought the world was ending.
  2. oh no not another Constantinius II... Every ancient coin lot is littered with them. I'm selling this one (not like I have many buyers) It will probably go for like $5.
  3. I bought a lot of ancients and I need help identifying them. I believe the Greek coin has Zeus on it. The roman one is Constantine the great era with vows. The third is a complete mystery to me. Islamic? Thanks so much!
  4. Here are some of my favorite toners. The Napoleon franc is interestingly toned blue. The ancient has some green toning. The toning on the Sudan coin is rainbow. The capped bust has some yellow orange color. The Buffalo nickel has some light yellow toning. The Lebanon coin was some wood grain going on.
  5. I'm not sure. It doesn't look right. I just hope it was made in the US in that time period. I love pre federal coins. It would be cool to figure out where it was minted.
  6. Modern fake? I thought it could only be either from the Royal mint or from US. Unless counterfeiters made it in like 2007
  7. How do you tell the difference between regal vs non-regal? I just bought this one off ebay. I'm not sure it's a contemporary counterfeit. (I'm hoping it is) F - British COLONIAL EVASION , Britain - 1/2 Penny - 1773 - Nice Copper Coin! | eBay
  8. eBay is interesting to say the least. Probably a top ten purchase for me was this denarius of Octavian and Mark Antony I won at an auction for $100. You can get some pretty good deals if you know your ancients. I'm still learning but I know that this is pretty rare.
  9. In no particular order these are my favorite coins I bought in 2022 1796 8 Real Mexico with Chop-marks, shipwreck effect, test cuts. A pirate coin at its finest 1822 British West Indies 1/16 dollar. I love the shipwreck effect and the anchor on it has a pirate feel 1907 Jamaica Farthing has great woodgrain toning 1940 Panama 1 1/4 centesimos what a neat denomination 1961 1 Franc Katanga cool design 1935 50 Mils Palestine lovely blue green toning 1972 1 Cent Liberia looks lovely in unc 1921 50 Centimes Moracco very intricate design 1958 1/2 Penny Rhodesia and Nyasaland love the giraffes and looks great in unc 1748 Netherlands East Indies VOC Penny classic feel to it
  10. Its edge is too round and when you flip it the orientation is too perfect. It is quite good if it is a fake. Hmmm
  11. Brazil has a lot of beautiful coin designs. I especially like the art deco coins of the early 1900s to 1930s.
  12. Beautiful coins all day. Even a common 3rd century bronze in a high grade is something noteworthy and an awe to behold. A rare historically interesting coin (Julius Caesar coin for example) in the worst imaginable shape is historically interesting but not something you would look at and admire but something you would just keep as a placeholder or just for the sake of owning it.
  13. Ah I see I'm guessing the one with the cross is the Theodosious II?
  14. I bought it specifically for this As of an armed emperor and interesting reverse. Wish I could decipher who it is and what's going on IMG_9362.MOV
  15. Bought a great lot of ancients 10 for $10 could you help me identify the emperor for them? I think the first one is an As by Augustus
  16. Certain Reverses just speak the character or accomplishments for emperors like Africa for septimius Severus or the Trajan's column for Trajan. What are your "must haves" or most fitting reverses for your ancients?
  17. Nero temple of Janus reverse I liked this one because it was cheap and the reverse was strong. Hope these photos are better!
  18. The legendary Eid Mar lol UNRESEARCHED ANCIENT GREEK TETRADRACHM EID MAR COIN | eBay
