  1. Victory on prow commemorative celebrating foundation of Constantinople. Mint is Lugdunum. Has nice detail. I would expand to getting a few more As but I'm focused on getting one of every emperor minus the rare and expensive ones. Don't want to get sidetracked even though there are a lot of cool types for each emperor. So far I have 47 different emperors! Probably will make it to 65 or so before I get stuck
  2. This 1672 Farthing of Charles II has the first depiction of Britannia on a coin since Roman Empire times. She took a long time to make a comeback
  3. I posted this before but this isn't a super common coin. It features German captives on the reverse and Marcus Aurelius on the obverse the condition is ok like a G-4 or AG-3. I like this one a lot and it is one of my favorites.
  4. This is a tough one because of its wear. I picked it out in a 6 for a dollar bin and it looks really old could be early AD or even late BC. Could I have some help IDing this?
  5. This Judea coin just looks wrong idk why but I think it's fake because it's patina looks weird it looks cast
  6. Picked up this Gordian III with a Pietas reverse it would be really nice if it wasn't for that ugly spot. It doesn't appear to be dirt but its a shame it's there
  7. I'm also a big fan of those 5 franc coins featuring Napoleon. This one is from 1803 before he was crowned as emperor of France.
  8. I just bought this coin and I'm super excited I know it's bad luck to post something you don't have in your hands yet, but this 1791 French Revolution 15 sold coin was a steal for $40 and it is really cool. Is it damaged idk but I thought it was a good buy
  9. Denarii of Antoninus Pius are plentiful but this portrait is fantastic.
  10. Here are a few examples of cheap ancients Celtic quinarius primitive but nice small silver I paid $40, usually you can find them under $100 ($80-90 for a nice one) depends on the tribe as well. Pontos Amisos the go to Greek starter ancient coin. I paid $9 but you can find a decent example for $20-30. Has Nike and a gorgon head. Great design. Byzantine Trachy coins typically go for $20 I paid $20 for it. Cool cup shaped coin.
  11. I like a nice shipwreck effect on a coin. It looks like a museum piece even though it's technically damaged. This is a cool 2 reals from 1801. All I need is a 4 reales and I have a mini Spanish colonial type set with Carlos IIII. Then I might later get a few pillar and globe ones.
  12. I got a cool Commodus Denarius. Would call it VF bordering XF. Has Roma holding victory on the reverse.
  13. Yeah sometimes eBay is okay but sometimes fakes are sold. I got this silvered Maximinus II and bought it for dirt cheap knowing 99% it's fake. The wear is weird on the reverse. So I was iffy on it so no big loss and I can always return for free. Sometimes people sell fakes unknowingly.
  14. Debating on whether to bid on this. It looks a little off. The seller is highly rated and his other stuff looks fine but this just looks off
  15. I was wondering on how to get a few examples of Carolingian/early Frankish kingdom coins without paying over $200. I have a few medieval coins but none from France. Is it possible? What are some popular types? Is Charlemagne out of price range? Also I noticed eBay is probably the worst place for those coins in particular because (99% of them look fake to me)
  16. This Aksumite coin takes the cake for me I bought it in a lot of 8 unattributed Greek and Roman coins for $30. A very difficult coin to find and it's in great condition too with some gildening visable. Aksum is located in present day Ethiopia and was a long forgotten world power in the ancient world. It dates from 375-400 ad when Christianity was introduced to the kingdom.
  17. 1589 lion daalder from holland. Cool early trade coin. Popular with world collectors and early US as well. Often called dog dollars because when super worn the lion looks like a dog.
  18. That's my guess. Small coin us dime size. Nothing too special. Am I right? What is the mint mark?
  19. What even is this? It is pretty cool but I'm not sure it's real. I think the emperor is Maximian and it's the emperor with a globe reverse but I'm not sure
  20. This Carus is my only flan that looks weird but I like it. It has character.
  21. It looks to be made of copper very interesting. Looks medieval..
  22. I have this Kingdom of Napoleon coin as well as this 1789 one from Naples. Italian States seem a bit harder to get than German states.
  23. Was thinking of buying this Judaea coin it looks unusual. I am unfamiliar with the type. I think it's Herod the Great.
