  4. It sometimes happens, for some reason I can't explain myself. See below a french royal quart d'ecu minted for Henri III (not mine anymore) where the legend erroneously reads HENRICVCVS instead of HENRICVS with only a very light doubling on the N of FRAN on the opposite.
