  2. The OP photo is in high resolution , if you magnify you will see no traces of tooling in front of the neck , there are some brown deposits and the small line connecting the aegis with the neck is not interrupted by a trench.
  3. This is a hard to find reverse , even in this grade should cost more than 5$ It is not tooled at all , below I compared the OP coin with a similar one in the same degree of wear.
  4. Thanks ! @DonnaML......is not in greate shape the obverse. If I had the chance I will take a third one next year , it will be a George IV 1820-1822
  5. I have to post this new coin here , I bought it because of this thread, was very hard to resist :) Thanks! Some years ago I decided to buy a British crown , then I liked it the most the George III 1818-1920 type , I loved both obverse and reverse , but because of a small budged I ended to buy a 1891 crown of queen Victoria , it has the same Pistrucci's iconic portrait of St George slaying the dragon , a little wider representation , even the coin has 1 mm more in diameter. description from numista.com George III , 1 Crown , silver(.925), engraver Benedetto Pistrucci , mint Royal Mint Obverse: Laureate portrait of King George III right, legend around, date below. GEORGIUS III D:G: BRITANNIARUM REX F: D : P I S T R U C C I 1819 Translation: George the Third by the Grace of God King of the Britains Defender of the Faith Reverse: St. George slaying the dragon right within Garter, legend around. HONI · SOIT · QUI · MAL · Y · PENSE. P I S T R U C C I Translation: Shame on he who thinks evil of it Edge: DECUS ET TUTAMEN ANNO REGNI LIX Translation: An ornament and a safeguard 59th year of reign
  6. I also received the Leu tracking ID , it was sent some hours before the deadline expiration.
  7. Not yet 😞 , and tomorrow the 10 working days delay(from the payment) will expire for me , I'm curious if they will keep their promise.
  8. Very interesting story about the months names , beautiful coins as always. Germanicus Æ As struck under Claudius.RIC 106 [Claudius], GERMANICVS CAESAR TI AVG F DIVI AVG N, bare head right / TI CLAVDIVS CAESAR AVG GERM P M TR P IMP P P around large SC. Cohen 9.
  9. I bought this coin some years ago and is still unidentified , the closest type I found was an aspron of John II , can you please help ? It has 28 mm and 4.5 g , the metal is possible billon ?
  10. Thanks @DonnaML for reopen this interesting discution here , I have followed also the one on CT. I have a griffin with a supplementary wing , something like a pelvic fin for a fish , I didn't find any other similar griffin . I'm not sure what the engraver wanted to represent ? Gallienus, AE antoninianus, Rome mint. RIC V 165 IMP GALLIENVS AVG, radiate head right / APOLLINI CONS AVG, gryphon walking left. Officina letter Δ in exergue
  11. Theodosius II AE3. Cyzicus, 406-408 AD. 12. I had the same probleme during the last Leu auction , I was so happy to win(bid numbers in green) a Trajan denarius and so dipointend afters two minutes when I refreshed the page 😞 . I received the shipping notification this morning.
  13. Don’t trust them 🙂 , your coin has at least 18 mm , if you see the obverse legend as circle its diameter should have at least 16 mm. This is an example of the same type , the photo with ruler was found on OCRE I just added the measurements.
  14. I also noticed the same problem in the past , the seller location is declared Austria or Greece on eBay , but finally the postal tracking is showing a starting point in Serbia or Bulgaria. I never had any problems with them, they generally sell cheap coins recently found by metal detection. My opinion 😊, I wouldn't worry , both coins are perfectly ancients.
  15. Congratulations @Restitutor !! hard to find this rare reverse , I'm watching one on ebay(at 560$) for some years , I don't think I will have the chance to buy it soon. CNG has mesured 15mm , is this the real diameter ?
  16. I remeber the lot this was sold in december , from an old Swiss colection :) ,the average price of a coin was not so bad many are valuable.
  17. Congratulations for your implication in building this great website ! Thanks !
