...and maybe not... Sorry to bump this thread again but I have this coin where, once again, the legends fails to match up with what I have it down as. Again, I have this down as 'FL IVL CONSTANTIVS NOB C' but this coin actually looks more like it says 'CONSTANTINVS ...', which made me think that this was actually a Constantine I. Anyways, as per usual, and help is always much appreciated and thank you for all the help that I have already received.

What is your Unpopular [non-US coin] Numismatic Opinion
Hughie Dwyer replied to Restitutor's topic in General
I have been following this thread with interest for the last few weeks. I have enjoyed hearing the opinions and preferences of everyone here. Now it's time for me to share mine. I'm not sure how unpopular this really is, but I would rather add to my denarius collection with new and interesting emperors, creating something like a timeline, over having loads of coins from the same few rulers. I would also always prefer to collect a coin with a story, rather than the best looking coin I can afford as this would interest me more. -

Hello again, Sorry if I'm asking too many questions. @seth77 Yes, I think that you are right. Looking at the obscured obeverse legend, it does seem to say 'DN THEODO-SIVS PF AVG' which matches up with him. @Al Kowsky Your coin indeed looks to be a much nicer version of mine. @Ancient Coin Hunter Our coins are quite similar! However, it is this coin that I am researching now. : I have it down as 'FL IVL CONSTANTIVS NOB C' but actually the legend does not match up. I found this coin on Wildwinds.com and I believe it might have the same obverse legend as my coin: 'FL CONSTANTIVS NOB CAES' THIS IS NOT MY COIN However, there is no coin on any database that I have searched that has this obverse with my reverse. Is it possible that this could happen? Do you think that I am worrying over nothing? Many thanks for viewing, Hugh P.S. I will be researching this coin (as well as others) further and will update you on any progress. I have similar problems on other coins. I will hopefully update the BAD photos soon to see if that makes it any easier.

I was thinking of maybe posting a thread about them sometimes but wondered if anyone would be interested. Anyways, enjoy! -

I wouldn't really say that I 'collect' these, but I'll still post them. Sometimes I'll have a look at them but, since Decimal-Day in 1971, they haven't really been much use! 😁🙃- 348 replies

Elagabalus The previous high priest of the Roman land of Syria, Elagabalus’ short reign was filled with many ungodly atrocities and many accusations of adultery. Married four times, Elagabalus’ cruel ways led him to petrify the population of Rome. He adopted the name of Syrian (and partly Roman) Sun God, Elagabal(/us). Next: same theme

I've never really paid any attention to coins like these before. However, these look outstanding. You've got me interested - that's for sure!

I'm currently awaiting a coin from Canada and hope that mine comes as quickly as yours! They are very nice coins that you have @John Conduitt.
