  1. Using your cleaning techniques, and taking photos as you go along, would be fascinating!
  2. Congratulations on your acquisition, @seth77 ! Based on portraits and statues that I’ve seen, Crispina was beautiful. At 29 mm your coin must be great in hand. I have two Crispina denarii.
  3. Thanks for the great thread, @Prieure de Sion ! Tyche is one of my favorite classical deities. I’ve only one Tyche at this time but I plan to rectify that.
  4. Great post, @Severus Alexanderand excellent coins!
  5. Congratulations on your acquisition of a beautiful and classic coin, @Nerosmyfavorite68 ! You definitely qualify for the “Owl Club” I’m not a member yet but I do have a couple of small Seleucid owls.
  6. That’s an amazing find, @David Atherton Seeing your coin gives me pause to reevaluate what I thought I knew about Vespasian. Here’s my recently acquired emperor in action.
  7. Making labels for my imperial denarii collection was so much fun that I decided to do the same with my Indo-Greek/Scythian coins. Here are a few. The Azes drachm in the top row left is my latest addition.
  8. Thank you for an interesting post, @Limes I’m drawn to the portraits when I’m shopping for denarii. Here are a few of the empresses that I found pleasing.
  9. Another thoroughly amazing post, @Roman Collector ⭐⭐⭐ ! The Salus image with the snake captured my imagination and I had fun reading up on it and creating some snaky enhancements. Here’s my Philip I.
  10. I thought I’d post a reference to an ancient storm which devastated a Roman fleet in 255 BC. Here are my ancient ship coins and I’d love to see yours. Check out: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roman_withdrawal_from_Africa_(255_BC) Also: I’m hoping for the best for folks in the path of Hurricane Ian. May you and your families come through it okay.
  11. Welcome @panzerman 🇨🇦 🇩🇪 🇺🇸 — I’m glad to see you’ve joined us ! Awesome coin as always ! — aka Deacon Ray
  12. Welcome to the FORVM @Sol_Invictus ! Great coin ⭐⭐⭐ ! I’ve denarii of Julia Mamaea and Julia Maesa.
  13. For me creating ancient coin graphics is as much of the fun as the actual collecting. Here’s my latest Roman imperial antoninianus/denarii desktop collage. I’ve always associated laurel leaves with Roman emperors . There are many talented folks on this forum — feel free to post your ancient coin desktop images.
  14. My dear wife asked me what I want for my birthday — which is weeks away. I said I needed a Valerian and she told me that we have some in the bathroom 🤔 Anyway, I ordered this fine antoninianus. I’d love to see yours!
  15. Interesting post, @Kali I used to submit my Judaean coins for grading and encapsulation but have given up the practice. None of my Roman coins are slabbed.
  16. I’ve added David Hendin’s “Guide to Biblical Coins Sixth Edition” numbers to my newly revised poster and have included the Fifth Edition numbers as well. Next on the To Do List is a new set of Judaean flip labels.
  17. Great coins and graphics, CPK ! These are my latest.
  18. I feel your pain, @Prieure de Sion 💔 I’m fortunate to have a few Nero coins. He’s definitely a fascinating figure. LONGINUS • aka Deacon Ray
  19. It’s been a while since I’ve had one of these in my collection since I sold and gifted mine a few years ago. Seeing @David Atherton’s Flavian Judaea Capta posts inspired me 😁 I’m planning to hold onto this one 😏 LONGINUS • aka Deacon Ray

  22. I don’t really collect Julia Domna coins but over time I’ve acquired a few. I purchased these mainly because I liked the portraits. Feel free to post your favorite portraits.
  23. Beautiful coins and superb photos @friedberg — the edge images are great ⭐ !
  24. We purchased ours from a Federal Government supplier in 32 by 40 inch sheets and in 100 foot rolls. It’s produced by the MACTAC company but similar products are available for hobby use from https://www.dickblick.com/products/grafix-double-tack-mounting-film/ My personal supply came from the scrap bin at my office 🏢
  25. "I wonder if the adhesive is archival quality." — @Valentinian The dry adhesive that I use is the same acid free archival material that we used at NASA Headquarters, Washington, DC for framing and preserving historical documents.
