  1. Viewing my ancient Roman holiday list, I discovered this one.
  2. Great Valerian and Gallienus gallery of portraits.
  3. Great coin and post @Valentinian! Mini–collections are fun. They are the building blocks of my collection and completing one always gives me a feeling of accomplishment. I started out collecting the Five Good Emperors followed by the Five Julias. Next were the New Testament emperors Augustus, Tiberius, Claudius, and Nero (I’m still working on Claudius). After them I turned my attention to the Severans and so on. Here are a few pairs.
  4. I was mistaken about having only one two headed coin. This was my final coin purchase of 2022.
  5. Thanks, I like to use the basic list from: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Roman_emperors
  6. Mine stands at eleven but my third century group will likely tie this number in the coming months. DR’s Longest Unbroken Sequence of Roman Denarii by Emperor I’m sure that many of you can surpass this number and I’d like to see or hear about them. Mixed denominations and provinces are welcome.
  7. Great post, @Hughie Dwyer! Commodus was certainly an interesting Emperor. Here’s Mr. and Ms. Commodus.
  8. Great post, @Valentinian! This is my one and only two portrait coin.
  9. Nice collection and interesting post, @AncientOne! I’m not sure if mine qualify since they are not Roman Imperial and all of the same denomination, but I’ve always enjoyed the stylized imagery on ancient Spanish coins.
  10. Great Victory coin, @David Atherton This coin may not be rare on the ancient coin market but coins featuring Victory are a rarity in my collection. Here’s the victory cadence from Ben-Hur (2016)
  11. Very Interesting post, @spaniard and great coins. Religio Romana and the various implements that were used is fascinating. Your research is much appreciated. Here’s my favorite Caracalla.
  12. I love this thread because it reminds me of the rush of elation I get when I dive into a rabbit hole. 🐰😆 I must declare two more collections that began as rabbit hole excursions. At first I had no intention of acquiring more than one.
  13. Nabataean coins were a bit of a rabbit hole for me. I was charmed by the stylized portraits. I thought of these when I saw@Spaniard’s amazing collection of ancient Kashmiri coins.
  14. I used to love this commercial 😊
  15. I’ve no coins of Fornax but I do have one featuring a similar deity. Feel free to post your hearth-warming coins or anything you like.
  16. Thank you for honoring the great women of Rome, @Prieure de Sion! Happy Valentine’s Day to them all ❤️❤️❤️ !
  17. Thank you, @Roman Collectorfor another great post ⭐⭐⭐ ⭐ ! Technically speaking, my Roman Imperial denarii collection is a trip down a glorious rabbit hole. My first ancients were Judaean and I continue to be a David Hendin groupie 😍
