lordmarcovan Posted August 17 · Member Share Posted August 17 I was pleased to unexpectedly win this one in the S-B auction. Sorta kicking around the idea of doing the Twelve Caesars again; this time as a subset within my existing collection. This is my first NGC ancient with the star ★ designation. https://auctions.stacksbowers.com/lots/view/3-13WVPS/claudius-ad-41-54-ae-sestertius-2963-gms-rome-mint-ad-42-43-ngc-vf-strike-55-surface-45-light-smoothing 14 1

Ryro Posted August 18 · Supporter Share Posted August 18 (edited) Cool coin! Though, the smoothing would drive me nuts, especially on the reverse. Here's one that didn't have a chance to get smoothed, as I bought it almost straight from being unearthed: Edited August 18 by Ryro 7

Fantastic colour. Simply a coin that catches the eye and is a pleasure to look at. Congratulations on the Claudius.
