Amarmur Posted April 1, 2023 · Member Share Posted April 1, 2023 1894 10 pfennig German New Guinea AU 55 PCGS. Love this beautiful design. Early European explorers thought the bird of paradise was a phoenix because of its beauty. Early German States silver pfennig coin Regensburg I think. Late 1200s to mid 1300s. Interesting look to it. Kind of has an abstract artist's interpretation of what a priest should look like. 8

Pantoffel Posted April 30, 2023 · Member Share Posted April 30, 2023 my newest addition to my Dutch coinage collection. A neat big silver coin from the Dutch, when being ruled by French. A 50 stuiver piece, with the portrait of Louis Napoleon // Lodewijk Napoleon (Dutch name). Brother of the famous French ruler. He was a decent ruler, he even learned Dutch and showed sympathy with the Dutch after disasters. His brother thought he was too soft. Its a heavy piece coming in at 26+ grams of silver. With a superb controlmark of a big bee! 8

Amarmur Posted May 6, 2023 · Member Share Posted May 6, 2023 1589 lion daalder from holland. Cool early trade coin. Popular with world collectors and early US as well. Often called dog dollars because when super worn the lion looks like a dog. 8

Bailathacl Posted May 6, 2023 · Member Share Posted May 6, 2023 (edited) Was able to acquire this wonderful dinar of the Nasrid Dynasty, minted sometime during the long 14th century reign of Muhammad V. Some waviness comes with the territory on these. Granada mint. Album-411. From the current “Coronation Edition” list of A.H. Baldwin. Been looking for a while for one of these in great shape, very happy to have it in hand. Finn235 Posted May 13, 2023 · Member Share Posted May 13, 2023 I very rarely buy individual world coins these days, but I had been eyeing this type for years and finally found it for decently cheap. Ireland, 10 shillings 1966 Commemorative - 50th anniversary of Easter Uprising Obv: Patrick Pearse, revolutionary leader executed after the uprising Rev: Death of Cu Chulainn, mythological hero who tied himself to a rock to die on his feet I have strong ties to Irish heritage on both sides of my family, plus this to me is one of the most visually appealing modern coin designs since the end of WWII. Very clean with good use of negative space. 10 1

Yours is the more sought after being minted in San Francisco, the others at Philly.
