Yours is the more sought after being minted in San Francisco, the others at Philly. I didn't even know honestly, it was a impulse buy at a coin show. Haven't done much research into it. I just bought it for the cool looks.

IanG Posted May 16, 2023 · Member Share Posted May 16, 2023 (edited) I mainly collect ancients but I do have a smaller British collection. For some strange reason - because it isn't the way I usually go about things - I decided to acquire a farthing from each year of Edward VII's reign in high grade. Here they are, mostly uncirculated. He ruled from 1901-1910 but his coins were only struck from 1902. . Edited May 16, 2023 by IanG 6

Amarmur Posted May 17, 2023 · Member Share Posted May 17, 2023 I like a nice shipwreck effect on a coin. It looks like a museum piece even though it's technically damaged. This is a cool 2 reals from 1801. All I need is a 4 reales and I have a mini Spanish colonial type set with Carlos IIII. Then I might later get a few pillar and globe ones.
expat Posted May 17, 2023 · Supporter Share Posted May 17, 2023 Received in change today Andorra is a tiny, independent principality situated between France and Spain in the Pyrenees mountains. Casa de la Vall is a historical house in Andorra la Vella, Andorra. It is the headquarters of the General Council of Andorra. It lies just to the southwest of the Andorra National Library. It is a heritage property registered in the Cultural Heritage of Andorra. It was built in 1580 as a manor and tower defense by the Busquets family. In 1702 it was acquired by the "Consell de la Terra".

Amarmur Posted May 30, 2023 · Member Share Posted May 30, 2023 I just bought this coin and I'm super excited I know it's bad luck to post something you don't have in your hands yet, but this 1791 French Revolution 15 sold coin was a steal for $40 and it is really cool. Is it damaged idk but I thought it was a good buy
Amarmur Posted June 1, 2023 · Member Share Posted June 1, 2023 I'm also a big fan of those 5 franc coins featuring Napoleon. This one is from 1803 before he was crowned as emperor of France.
CPK Posted June 3, 2023 · Supporter Author Share Posted June 3, 2023 @Amarmur Funny you should post that. I've always wanted one of those large Napoleonic 5 franc coins too and at the time of your post I was awaiting one which I had finally managed to acquire at a decent price. Arrived in the mail today! Along with a nice colonial-era George II half-penny - for 7 euros, why not??

thenickelguy Posted June 10, 2023 · Member Share Posted June 10, 2023 (edited) "I am NOT an animal!" After taking hundreds and hundreds of pictures over the past couple months, I'll have a few to post. This is an imitation half penny token from Lower Canada dated 1820 but was struck around 1835. There are numerous varieties of this imitation Bust and Harp type token. The earliest were very close copies of originals and they became more and more distorted and crude as time went on in producing them. I think I have a dozen and 8 or so are completely different than the others. In the Charleton catalog of Canadian Colonial Tokens this one is identified as LC-60E2, Reminds me of the old Elephant Man movie. thenickelguy Posted June 10, 2023 · Member Share Posted June 10, 2023 (edited) Early imitation LC-60C2 I don't own an original Bust and Harp token but this is pretty close in appearance. They cost a lot more than the imitations as a rule, They got to be pretty weird looking, I wonder if it was done on purpose, mocking King George I. ??? Maybe designed to appear as well circulated, Wear can hide counterfeits I suppose. This one has very little wear.
