  1. I saw this and I was awe struck on the level of detail this bronze Dupondius has. I bought it today for $50. I really didn't need another Nero but this totally was worth the price plus I enjoyed the Roma reverse. Post the nicest Nero in your collection. Denarii are nice but a quality bronze/brass is like gold
  2. Very nice, I read somewhere that during the reign of Hadrian and Antoninus Pius the Roman Egypt coins peaked in artistry. Nero also famous for a great bunch of reverses.
  3. I really started enjoying Roman Egypt coins for their style and unique take on Ancient Egyptian culture. Here are a few I like Nilus, Isis headdress, depiction of Messalina (Not Egyptian themed just she is only depicted on provincials). Share your Roman egypt coins or recommend some ones that are "significant" in your opinion.
  4. Mercury please put some pants on
  5. Mine has dark toning. It has vesta on the reverse. Not terrible, it resembles him so it works for me.
  6. I just acquired an Otho for an amazing price. It isn't my dream coin but it is certainly the second most valuable coin in the 12 Caesars set. Now I need a Galba and a Julius to finish the 12 Caesars! The portrait is decent the reverse is kinda tough.
  7. May Salus be with you. I wish you a speedy recovery.
  8. I'm unfamiliar with this one entirely Has a young boy on the obverse and a trident on the reverse. Has the look of a Roman provincial coin or Greek coin. What do you think?
  9. Lot #1 looks cool. I like the portrait of Septimius Severus it appeals to me the most.
  10. I was recommended on another forum this book ACIP - NumisWiki, The Collaborative Numismatics Project (forumancientcoins.com) as a possible anonymous type. Maybe this is an imitation of an ancient Spanish coin? It looks very cubist and unnatural and there is no lettering to be seen.
  11. Added a Judea Capta with Titus to the collection. It has Nike with a shield on the reverse. Any Judea Capta is a milestone for me. It weighs 7.22 grams and is from Caesarea Maritimia or "liberated" Jerusalem.
  12. is there anything I can use to remove the unwanted grime?
  13. I have this caracalla denarius which has a fairly ugly obverse. Can giving it an acetone bath help wash off the patina? How long should I dip it in for?The reverse looks nice.
  14. Interesting coin with distinct Celtic style. It's around 18mm US dime sized. It appears to have a native male on the obverse and an animal most likely a bull on the reverse. What do you think?
  15. Added a Hadrian Egyptian Tetradrachm with a Nilus Reverse I won it with a $31 bid surprisingly. I really like the reverse of the coin. It really captures the Roman Egypt vibe.
  16. I am very thankful for the Judea Capta Titus Denarius I bought from you. I consider it one of my favorites in my collection and a milestone for me. I'm Still looking for a bronze Judea Capta or one with Vespasian
  17. Thank you for your help you're the best! 2. I think is Gordian III in Edessa
  18. How long should I put in in distilled water?
  19. I found an 1804 half cent in a 6 for a dollar bin. Good news that's it's a fairly rare and valuable coin. Bad news is its covered with verdigris and junk. It is in pretty good shape besides the gunk attached to it. How can I safely clean this coin without damaging it? I never cleaned a coin before so it's a new thing to me.
  20. The 1st pic belongs to the last coin sorry. I think this is an anonymous roman provincial coin with an eagle holding a thunderbolt. 2nd one looks roman provincial as well (2 portraits I think Tyche is one of them), 3rd has Hercules and his club on the reverse I believe, 4th is roman provincial Augustus with Apollo with a bow? 5th looks like an anonymous (Trajan maybe) roman provincial with an altar sacrifice reverse.
  21. Thank you always for the help. I'm asking again because I bought these dirt cheap and would like some assistance with the Identification. Looking for general hints and directions of what to search
  22. Happy belated birthday. Alexandria Neros are always fun, super abundant, you can even do a mini set with the reverses! May many more Nero coins come your way!
  23. Nero denarius fat and with Jupiter on the reverse.
  24. These are the photos the seller provided. Not me. Thank you for the advice.
