  1. That looks awesome! I’ll have to get myself one. Are there other signed copies available, Deacon Ray? Erin
  2. @Spaniard and @expat, I love your tortoises! Although not a tortoise, I’ve always wanted to adopt a red ear slider and give it the most awesome set up ever. They’re really neglected up here as pets, often given tanks that are way too small. @Al Kowsky, that is an awesome paperweight, such a colourful lizard! @antwerpen2306, your trihemiobol is really nice! Thanks again! Erin
  3. Your collection is superb, Deacon Ray! Yours is a collection that I hope I can someday achieve! I still have a fair ways to go. Lol 😃 Erin
  4. @quant.geek - nice inscription, but, ouch on the price! I don't know how much my brother paid, but, I can guarantee that it's far less than that! @Ryro - your diobol is perfect just the way it is! @Edessa - that is a fine looking tetras! Thanks again, everyone! Erin
  5. Thanks so much! @ominus1 - that is an awesome hemidrachm! Here's mine that I got soon after I decided to seriously collect. Erin
  6. Thanks Donna! I, too, am intrigued by the brick! It’ll be a really good conversation piece when people go to visit my parents. Lol. I knew of the bricks, but, didn’t know that they ever came up for sale. My brother thinks this might have been a floor brick because the inscription is so worn. It’s still really cool! Erin
  7. Hi Everyone, Happy mid-August! It’s hard to believe the summer is almost over, it always goes by too fast. Well, my summer is ending on a high note with the coin that was at the top of my lizard list - the Eion Macedonian AR Diobol. I really like the lizard on this coin. 😃🦎 There are a few other lizard coins on my list. But, I can’t bring myself to get a Sicilian AE tetras with the owl holding the lizard. Poor thing. 😞 A while ago, I had posted about my brother looking for a Canaanite artifact. On his hunt, he found something that intrigued him even more - a brick with a faint inscription of Nebuchadnezzar II! 😮 It came in yesterday while I was at my parents and my aunt and uncle from Newfoundland were able to get in on the action. Although the inscription is pretty much illegible, the dimensions are perfectly in line with other Nebuchadnezzar bricks that have been found. It’s big and heavy, probably about 40-50lbs. There’s an example in the British Museum that’s very similar to this brick with a much clearer inscription. It will be displayed in my parent’s living room, maybe right next to my ancient lizard, Achoo (he’s 23 yrs old now). Anyway, feel free to post anything completely IRRELEVANT, as always.
  8. From the collection of the great @Severus Alexander! Nicephorus AE follis overstruck on Michael VII Next - a gifted coin
  9. Thanks @Kamnaskires! That’s good to know about Z’s arrowheads. Your artifact collection is spectacular! Erin
  10. Thanks so much, @Kamnaskires and @DonnaML! My brother and I learned fairly early on through others’ experiences to stay away from eBay. My brother wants to keep the price modest - $250-$300. It probably won’t get him much, but, he’s not really looking for much, just a small artifact from the Canaanites. We’ve seen arrows and scarabs labelled as Canaanite. He just wants to make sure that what he’s getting isn’t mislabeled as being Canaanite when it’s really not. I’ve heard really good things about the dealers Donna has mentioned. I have an easy afternoon at work, so, I’ll be browsing. Lol @Kamnaskires feel free to message me anytime! My brother is inactive on social media, so, I’m basically his secretary. Lol. But, we’re always back and forth about our coins and artifacts. Thanks again! Erin
  11. Hey everyone, Happy almost Mid-July! 😳 So, artifacts are fun. We have seen some really great pieces here. I don’t venture too much into them (too many coins to collect lol), but, my brother dabbles in them from time to time. He wants to save up for some kind of Canaanite antiquity. He’s not picky about what it is. We’ve looked at a couple of things from ‘Z’ on vcoins. But, he’s not 100% certain on them. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks so much! Erin
  12. Oh Canada! Im not at home right now, so, I can’t get better pics. My dad is a Newfie, so, he has some Nfld coins, including a $2 gold coin from 1888. Happy Canada Day! 🇨🇦 Erin
  13. Awesome denarii, @LONGINUS! I have two Tribute Pennies of my own now, one being a foureé! Erin
  14. You’ve just opened a bag of ancient Lays chips, @Paddy54, you can’t have just one! Congrats and welcome to da club! 😎🥳 Erin
  15. Here is my other lizard coin, an AR hemidrachm. I'm going to branch out to collecting snakes too. I want to get as many reptiles as I can. My brother has the frog and I'm sure he'll take care of covering the turtle at some point too. lol Also, I thought I'd take the opportunity to show off my geckos. Achoo who is now 22 years old. He doesn't look or act a day over five. Dotty is six and doesn't like that I've switched over from superworms to crickets. Erin
  16. Thanks so much, everyone! You’ve got some awesome looking lizards! Thank you, @Qcumbor, for letting me use your pics which are far superior to mine. 😃 The goose and lizard trihemiobol is one I’ve wanted for a long time and hope to get either this year or next. 🤞 Erin
  17. Hi Everyone, Happy Saturday! As I've mentioned before, I'll be focusing on coins with reptiles for a while. In order to raise the money to get my Herod Antipas coins earlier this year, I sold a couple of coins to my brother. One was my Nemausus dupondius with the crocodile and the other was my Augustus denarius with the comet. Although I miss having them in my collection, the advantage of having a family member that collects the same thing you do is that pretty much nothing will leave the family. lol After Herbert died, I especially missed having the dupondius. The generosity of the other forum has followed to this forum, unsurprisingly. You are all incredibly generous! @Qcumbor messaged me a couple of weeks ago offering me a crocodile to replace my old one. I was and still am very excited about it! This dupondius was cut in half to make change (AE As). But, it has an excellent portrait of Augustus and a very cute, full crocodile. I admire the cutter for making the perfect cut! This one, although cut, is far less worn than my other one and I like it a lot better. Thank you again, @Qcumbor, and to everyone for your continued support and encouragement! Please show your reptiles! I would love to add to my wish list. 😄 Erin
  18. A Christmas gift from a friend: Wrong thread. I thought I was in post it and pick it for a second. 🤪 Im off to get some coffee. Erin
  19. I’m so sorry, @ValiantKnight. Losing a pet is incredibly hard. I’m still trying to get over losing my bearded dragon a few months ago. Its amazing how these little creatures make such a deep impression on our hearts. I’m honour of Baby, here is mr brother’s Shekel of Tyre. Take care, my friend. Erin
  20. Fabulous, absolutely fabulous!!👍🥳 Erin
  21. I am thoroughly enjoying your artifacts, Donna. Please continue posting! Erin
  22. Like @LONGINUS, I collect mostly Judaean coins. David Hendin’s Guide to Biblical Coins is like my Sears Wishlist catalogue from the 90s. My wish list is long. Lol I also have a small collection LRBs with Christian symbols like the Chi Rho. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our coin family, I now have coins in other areas such as other Romans and Greeks! I’m going to take a slight detour from my main collecting areas for a bit and focus on coins with reptiles on them. There’s one on the way now that I’m really excited about that replaces a coin I sold to my brother. 🦎 My brother collects randomly. Lol Erin
