  1. Thank you so much, everyone! I admit that I had a lot of help getting the gecko setup like it is, and I’m really proud of it. Reptiles were there before coins, so, they’ll always have my heart. @CPK - I’m jealous! I want a ball python so bad, but, no one in my family approves, plus, I don’t think my landlord would appreciate a snake in the building. But, I’m determined to get one someday. Do you have a pic? @Heliodromus - the toilets are for my entertainment only, the geckos couldn’t care less about them. Two of them do their business wherever they please. 🙄. Dotty, my leopard gecko, is very neat and does her thing in one spot. @panzerman - I’m sure your salamander is very happy! You have a very pretty and good girl! @DonnaML - I’m glad that you got another cat and that you gave yourself the proper time to grieve Ziggy. I’m sorry to hear about the Crohn’s disease. 😞. Digestive issues are not pleasant. Our family Christmas is tomorrow because my sister worked today, so, I spent the day doing data entry for my volunteer work at our food bank. I have six months of paper work to go through before next Tuesday. 😳. But, it’s all in good fun! From Achoo, Dotty, Maple and I - we hope you all have had a fantastic day! 🥳 Erin
  2. @seth77 and @lordmarcovan - I am so sorry for such a late reply. Thank you so much for your generosity in thought - it is very much appreciated! Seth - I just posted about my lizards a few minutes ago. 🦎😃 Erin
  3. Hi Everyone, Long time, no talk! I’m still checking in every day, but, I haven’t really had anything to post. I love seeing everyone’s year in review- we have an incredible group of coin friend who have incredible collections! I’m so honoured to be a part of it! This year was a very quiet coin year for my brother and I. I decided to put my focus on finally bringing my reptiles to my apartment and giving them the upgrades they needed based on new research- always important! My brother focused mostly on his other collections. Half way through the year, my parents and brother were unceremoniously evicted from the home thy had lived in for 12 years. As a result, they moved into town where they now pay more than double the rent they were paying before for a little more than half the space of their previous home. It really took its toll on them, especially my mom. My mom is a closeted, chronic alcoholic. It’s the worst kept secret in the family. Yet, our efforts to help her have never been successful and I doubt they ever will because the decision is hers to make, not ours. Anyway, her health is starting to get hit by the drinking - she has carcinoma and liver inflammation. 😞 The stress of moving really hit her, but, she’s getting used to being in town. I have terrible health anxiety and, when I started noticing some stomach stuff, I went to the dr. I ended up being on a liquid only diet for three weeks. It didn’t show much on my waistline, though. Lol Anyway, after a procedure earlier this week, I got a clean bill of health from the dr just in time for Christmas. 😃 With that being said, we each did get some things related to our coin and antiquities collections (coins - me and antiquities- him) My brother helped me with last year’s Secret Saturnalia and, when I won the gift voucher to @Prieure de Sion’s Vcoins store, I got him this Domitian denarius: My brother likes early Bronze Age antiquities, so, he found himself this lot of early stamp seals: I didn’t buy anything myself, but, Santa @ominus1 gifted me this most awesome hemidrachm for Christmas. Can you guess what my favourite part about it is? Lol Thank you, @ominus1 for this incredible, thoughtful gift! As for my reptiles - they are now home and I even adopted a crested gecko in July. Here is the setup that took what seemed like forever to get right and all of my money. Here is Achoo, my 23 yr old golden gecko: Dotty, my 8 yr old leopard gecko: Finally, I introduce to you Maple, my 2.5 yr old crested gecko: I got each of them mini toilets for their enclosures. 🤪 So, I’m hoping to get back onto coins collecting in 2024. I have a big list of reptile related ancients to work on - a lot of snakes. We’ll see how my brother’s collection goes. He tends to be hit and miss because video games are his biggest thing and a new one comes out about every 15 minutes. I hope everyone has a great day tomorrow and they day after that and they day after that and so on….. You all deserve the best of days everyday! Thanks for being my friends. I really appreciate it. 🙂 May 2024 be the best coin year for all of us! Erin 😃
  4. Thank you so much, @seth77! I really appreciate the thought and would love to have the Septimius Severus in my collection. 🙂 Its been a rough last half of the year, that’s why I haven’t posted much. But, cheers for a better year ahead for all of us! @lordmarcovan - you are a boss! 😎 Erin
  5. My main inspiration in Biblical coin collecting! You are a boss, @LONGINUS! Erin 😃
  6. I wish I could participate this year, but, unfortunately, it’s not possible. Fingers crossed for next year! 🤞 Last year was my first time and it was so much fun! I can’t wait to see what everyone gives and gets! 🥳 Erin
  7. I hope you have a full and quick recovery, @Roman Collector! Get lots of rest! Take care, Erin

Let’s throw in another lizard for fun. 😃 You can never have too many. 🤪 Erin
  9. Hey Everyone, Happy Summer! My brother has been itching for another antiquity and came upon the dealer, NP Collectables. https://npcollectables.org.uk/a1-gallery2.asp?roomID=698 There’s something he’s interested in on the Near East page, one of the Syro-Hittite figures. We can’t find much on the dealer. The person whose collection it’s from seems to have collected antiquities from what little we’ve found, Brian William Hooper. But, we’re newbs and have no idea if it’s genuine or not. We haven’t been able to find anything that’s really similar to the chariot. so, we appreciate any opinions. Thanks so much!
  10. That is fabulous! I love hearing about long lived reptiles. 😃 Here’s Achoo still feisty as ever. Also, here is my croc from @Qcumbor to celebrate. 🥳 Erin
  11. Thanks everyone! Achoo is actually 130 in human years and he’s still incredibly spry. I would love to live in a place where seeing geckos crawl up and down the wall is normal. @DonnaML, unfortunately, the oldest picture I have is from 2015. I’ve never been much of a picture taker. 😞 I love all the coins! @DANTE, your seal is fantastic! The bottom animal could be a sea turtle. 🐢 @Al Kowsky, I love seeing that paper weight every time you post it. I really appreciate the support! I’ll show off their set up once they get here. Fingers crossed 🤞 for early July. Erin
  12. Hi Everyone, Happy Tuesday! So, I’ve put collecting on hold for a while because I’m finally bringing my reptiles to my apartment, which is proving to be quite expensive. I’ve been in contact with a guy that owns a reptile rescue in Ottawa concerning upgrades I need. I told him that my golden gecko is about 22 yrs old and I’ve had him for about 20 years. It turns out that Achoo is unofficially the oldest gecko known to have ever lived. 😲🥳. I say unofficially because my mom isn’t going to hold onto a 20 yr old receipt for a $20 gecko. The current record holder was about 14/15. The guy has a database with all the information. So, in honour of Achoo’s achievement, let’s see your OLDEST coin and/or antiquity because they’re cool too. 😃 Thanks everyone! Erin
  13. This is, by far, my favourite of my brother’s coins. I bought it for him and it’s one of my proudest moments as a sister. 😎🤪 Erin
  14. This one first belonged to me and now my brother has it. I hope to get another comet denarius some day. 😃 Erin
  15. Next - another type of reptile - snake or turtle.
  16. That is an amazing find, @galba68! Way to go! 🥳 Erin
  17. Thanks everyone! I was really excited to get the republic denarius. I couldn’t find many other examples. I’ll never miss an opportunity to show off my cold blooded children. 😃 First is Achoo, my golden gecko. He’s about 23 yrs old and I’ve had him for a little over 20 years. He’s still very much like a young gecko - very active. Next is Dottie, my leopard gecko. I think she’s around 7 years old now. She’s very shy, but, loves her super worms. I’m hoping to be able to adopt a crested gecko in the late summer/early fall. If I had more room, I’d get a Kenyan sand boa too. But, that will have to wait until I get a bigger apartment. Reptiles rule. 😎🦎 Erin
  18. Hi Coin Friends, Its been a while, how’s is everyone? I got hit with depression for a while and it sucked, like it always does. But, I have really exciting news after I share our first coins of the year. 😃 First, I’ve added a new ‘reptile’ coin and it happens to be my first Roman Republic. 🙂 When I participated in the Secret Saturnalia, my brother helped me purchase the coin I wanted to get for my giftee. I never actually heard from the person, so I don’t know if they got it or if they liked it. 😞 Anyway, as reimbursement, I gave my brother the gift voucher I won from @YOTHR a few months back. With it, he purchased this great Domitian denarius. Pic courtesy of @YOTHR because mine suck. 🤪 Domitian as Caesar, RIC 921, Date 76-77 AD, Silver Denarius Rome, Pegasus, COS IIII For the exciting update- I have new landlords that are allowing me to bring my geckos into my apartment. 🦎🦎 I am sooo excited!! This means no coins for a while because I’m taking the opportunity to do major upgrades to their terrariums. But, it’s well worth it! Feel free to post anything that is completely random and irrelevant. 🤪 Have fun and stay safe. 😎 Erin
  19. Congratulations, @Roman Collector! You’re going to be a great grandpa! Erin
  20. How about some critters of the cold blooded variety? Some inspirations for our critter coins: Man, I miss Herbert! ❤️ Erin
  21. Here are my cute little crocodiles. The first is a very generous gift from @Qcumbor and the second is a bday present from my bro. Erin 🙂
  22. My favourite purchases in 2022. For myself: For my brother: 🥳🥳 Erin
  23. Thanks everyone! @robinjojo, thanks! I thought it was Justinian. I just needed confirmation, so, I really appreciate it! Wow! I’ve never been an influencer, so, I’m honoured, @Severus Alexander! Your Judaeans are wonderful! I’m pretty proud of the coin I got my brother. It definitely appears to be overstruck on the soldiers/standards. It’s a really fun coin! One of my goals is to get a funny looking imitation this year. 😃 Erin
  24. Now onto my brother’s year. The last coin on my first post is the coin I got him for his birthday, a Constantius II imitation that I picked solely for the Beavis portrait, the mess in the reverse is an added bonus. In order to get the Herod Antipas coins, I sold two coins to my brother. One was my crocodile dupondius that @Qcumbor generously replaced. I don’t have a pic of it on my phone. The other was my comet denarius. As much as I enjoyed that coin, it was more important for me to have Herod Antipas. My brother rented space in his room to my fire bellied toads when I had them and he grew fond of them. So, when this popped up, he had to get it. It’s an Ae cast unica. Finally, my brother hit the ball out of the park with this next purchase. While on the hunt for a Canaanite artifact, he discovered a brick with a faint inscription of Nebuchadnezzar II. It is incredibly cool! I’m still in shock that he has it. 😲 I tried to convince him to let me be co-owner because I influenced him to start collecting, but, it didn’t work. Lol 🤪 So, he did fantastic too! I can’t wait to see what he gets in 2023. 😃 Happy collecting all! Erin
  25. Happy New Year’s Eve!! You all did fantastic this year with your coin lists! I thoroughly enjoy reading them every year. This year, thanks to getting a job finally, I was able to get back into buying coins. My brother and I had an amazing collecting year. I’ll start with my coins first. At the start of the year, I was able to add two coins that I thought would take me years to get. They from Herod Antipas. These are a must for any collector of Biblical coins. I then received a belated Christmas gift from Steve Arino from the other forum. They are some fun Byzantine coins! After my bearded dragon, Herbert died, I decided to shift my focus a bit and start getting coins with reptiles on them. @Qcumbor helped me start with a fabulous crocodile! Next up, I got a coin that I had been wanting for years. The Eion Macedonian Diobol. My brother and I share birthdays in November, so, we decided to get each other coins. Continuing on with the crocodiles, my brother got me this Hadrian drachm. A couple at the food bank I volunteer at gave me my first gold coin! At first, I thought that they had made a mistake. But, after talking to them, they did intend to give me the coin. A $5 golden eagle! Then, came Christmas! I was blessed with three Secret Santa’s. 😃 @Qcumbor with this marvellous follis! @ominus1 with the super awesome Yugoslavian dinar and large Canadian cent! Finally, my Secret Saturnalia finishing up the year with this Julian bull, Constantius II campgate and fun Byzantine that I’m still trying to figure out. Lol My brother and I split on a pack of SAflips for Christmas, yay! 🤪 So, needless to say, 2022 completely blew my mind! I’m still in disbelief! I’m sure 2023 is going to be just as good! Thank you all for continuing to make this the absolute best hobby! All the best in 2023! Erin
