Al Kowsky Posted September 4 · Member Share Posted September 4 CNN has published an article authored by Oscar Holland on a commemorative coin made for the late Queen Elizabeth II, said to be the world's most valuable coin. The coin contains nearly 8 pounds of gold & 6,426 diamonds 😮! This coin has to be the epitome of decadence & fitting for the British monarchy. https://www.cnn.com/style/queen-elizabeth-coin-east-india-company/index.html 5 1 1 1 2
expat Posted September 4 · Supporter Share Posted September 4 If I had 23 million laying around, I don´t think I would be buying just 1 coin, although it is not for sale apparently. Quite a fascinating article about its construction.

Qcumbor Posted September 4 · Supporter Share Posted September 4 To me it looks like a candy box lid, and not even nice at it. Thank you but no thank you : give me a tenth of what it's worth (or supposed to be) instead ! Q 3 1
ewomack Posted September 4 · Member Share Posted September 4 (edited) Maybe I could use the Paypal layaway plan? I mean, that seems reasonable, really. How much is sales tax? I may need a go fund me account... Maybe I should have gone with the 60 day plan? Edited September 4 by ewomack 3 1

CPK Posted September 4 · Supporter Share Posted September 4 What they don't tell you is right after the camera flashed he accidentally dropped it. 😄 Joking aside, that is a seriously impressive piece of work.

Restitutor Posted September 8 · Administrator Share Posted September 8 Wonder if they edited the photo. The chocolate coin seems to not be perfectly round, looking at the space on the right between his fingers. Seems jagged! Weird.

Perhaps there was something behind him that they removed but didn't do a good job of tidying up.
