  1. Ah ok I'm about six and a half hours north in Amposta...I lived in Nerja for a few years before moving up here.. There are at least 3 vcoin dealers in Spain that I buy from regularly 2 of which are very close to where you live....But in general if you buy within the EU you'll receive the coin within 5 days... Sancho IV was the first king to introduce the denomination Cornado and this is a king I will concentrate on a bit this year as this series has 5 different mints to collect..the OP coin Burgos, Cuenca, Medina Del Campo(some controversy), Seville, and Toledo..The Heiss numbers change depending on mint location..Does anyone have them?Spain, Castile and León..Sancho IV 1284-1295 Cornado 0.81gr..Burgos mint.Obverse...SANCII REX...Crowned bust facing left..3 dots in the crown.Reverse...CASTELLE LEGIONIS...Three towered castle surmounted by a cross rising from the centre tower with B/* either side of cross..Arched door.Bautista-427 Variant.(Only reference I have from seller)

  11. Ahh OK thanks Bob.I'd never heard of a dirk before. An interesting piece... Been looking at your photos in close up, what an Alladins cave... Love the little oil lamps but as you know I particularly like the " bird beak spouts" , wonderful design. What are your most recent purchases?
  12. This was a gift and an area I've yet to delve into....This is my only tet from Antioch and will be staying in my collection SYRIA, Seleucis and Pieria. Antioch. Gordian III, AD 238-244. AR Tetradrachm, 28mm, 13.7g, 6h, struck AD 238-240. Obv..Radiate, draped and cuirassed bust right. Rev..Eagle standing facing with spread wings, head turned to left, holding wreath in beak. //SC McAlee 862.....Prieur 279.

I really wanted a display that was visually appealing whenever I was in my office at home....I like to pick up my coins regularly and had them in trays then after visiting a Roman museum in Tarraco went for a glass display case...Here's some recent photos, still has a few gaps.. Top shelf more for bronzes.. 2nd shelf my main Roman silver.. Bottom 2 shelves for eastern, metal detector finds and fossils..

Obverse- Crowned and cuirassed bust of Peroz right, ribbons rising from shoulders, Degraded Pahlavi legend. Reverse- Fire altar decorated with ribbons, attendants standing either side, star left of flames, crescent at right, 'PEROZ' in Pahlavi on left, mint 'WH' right. Mint Veh Ardashir.

  20. @DonnaML.....Super pieces... I like them all but the little oil lamp "Wow"....It's an area that I'm very interested in but haven't purchased yet....It seems that fibulii, oil lamps and arrow heads are my limit when it comes to budget...Looking forward to seeing your next post..
