I read the Barry Cunliffe which of course is mostly speculation, but it is argued very logically and reads much like a Pausanias travel guide.

In 1998 some friends of mine started a community garden at another friend's house not to far from me. I saw this as an opportunity to do something I'd always wanted to do, stand some really big stones on their end. My wife and I had recently watched a show on PBS about the stones at Stonehenge and the great obelisk at Alexandria, with two groups putting their theories to practice and I thought "we could do that". So I spoke with a friend who was a rigger for a local power company, and another who was a geological engineer. We decided we could do it, but we wanted to erect the stones with no modern equipment. A year later we erected the uprights (14 tons of columnar basalt), and 15 months after that we placed the lintel, (3.5 tons of granite). All this was done with ropes and simple pulleys, and a LOT of volunteers pulling on the ropes! Over the next decade we added smaller stones around to make a circle It was one hell of an experience which none of us will ever forget. ~ Peter

Yes, Bruford was there full-time live drummer for the first post-Gabriel tour (Trick of the Tail). And as much as I love him as a drummer (I saw him with Genesis, King Crimson, Yes and solo) I believe Chester Thompson was a better fit. And Phil did excellent work on Frida's first album too, playing, singing and producing. You might also get a kick out of the album he did with Cafe Jacques. ~ Peter

They did 4 or 5 albums, maybe more, but Phil didn't usually tour with them. Fortunately the last time I saw them he was playing that tour. And lest people forget just what an amazing drummer Phil Collins was ( a fact often buried by his pop stardom), here is Nuclear Burn...

I love the Cascades. My wife and I used to hunt waterfalls, so we spent a lot of time exploring the mountains from Mt Shasta to Mt Baker. Being retired now my life revolves almost entirely around my boy Repo. He's an 11 year old flat coated retriever who rescued me when he was 10 months. At that time he had already been adopted and returned twice, hence the name. 🙂
