  1. My memory is vague, but wasn't he accused of smuggling a sarcophagus in pieces about 10-12 years ago? He and the guy who changed his company name to Windsor Antiquities? I don't remember him being convicted though.
  2. Nice discovery, and nice coin too. I always find it cool to discover that my coin actually had a history before I acquired it. Who'd a thunk it? 😉 ~ Peter

  4. One of the first half dozen ancient coins I ever bought was this Didrachm from the Frederick Rindge collection, although that meant little to me at the time... 6. That is really cool! I love this era and know most of the ships and engagements (not for nothing all that O'Brian, Lambdin and Pope), but ol' Billy was everywhere! Even escorting Nelson's body home in a storm while severely damaged. Hearts of oak indeed! ~ Peter
  7. In a box buried in my garage is a scorpion holding a globe made out of wool taken from socks. It was given to me by an old friend who was a prison guard at Folsom Prison in California, and he got it from Charles Manson, who made it from his own socks. It was a common theme for Manson, who saw the globe as the earth and the scorpion as the white man in control. Yes he was very twisted on many levels. If I ever dig it out again I will most certainly get rid of it! ~ Peter

Kleonymus, the unworthy heir to the Spartan throne, was yet another in a line of self-serving mercenary generals to come to the aid of Taras (circa 302 BC), but he was no more successful than his predecessors.
