  1. Sounds fantastic, I would be interested in local coin commerce , vendors or shops, the examples they have, the price, etc. I wonder if they are cheaper due to the export restrictions and over all quality and selection. Have a great trip, sounds amazing!
  2. I don't use an online db or source, I am starting to put together something with http://opennumismat.github.io/ seems to have all the cool things, exports, reports in html, pdf, etc. Imports from online sources , etc. I am also looking to do a punch hole binder physically.

    Da 12 of Mount O

    This is all I can add at the moment as I'd have to take pics and what not. May edit again to add more! Sicily, Syracuse, Hieron II, 275 - 215 BC AE Litra, 23mm, 5.73 grams Obverse: Head of Poseidon left wearing tainia. Reverse: Ornamented trident head flanked by two downwards dolphins. SNG Copenhagen 850 Historic type issued during the First Punic War.
  5. @DonnaML 2024 is VERY generous. Unless they already had hired Hopkins and others and are only slowly announcing it now, I can't image getting all the eggs in order before filming this year and a whole season release in 2024. But maybe im just a skeptic?
  6. Saw that, but can't find a release date 😕 Maybe 2025? lol
  7. Man those are cool! What's the one that looks like Zeus? I don't have any elephants , but I'm looking around for a Caesar coin with one. Kinda pricey tho.
  8. @Al Kowsky I can relate, my parents fled communism to the US. We are not responsible for the politics of our past, only our current. Cheers.
  9. Educated people see this from numismatics point of view as well as history how it was presented at the period and region. Such pieces, and it should go without saying, are used to study and learn history, an in no way should influence today's people's view or otherwise. Aside from that, it's a stunning display of art and antiquity. This is all my opinion and should also go without saying.
  10. BBC will be reporting on it tomorrow
  11. Just ordered me one of these sets, from a us seller;
  12. Very nice, I have one, no clue what variation it is tho. I only got it to add to my Alexander variation an coinage. It's als not the greatest example in the shield side. I also really like that kassander. Here's mine; maybe Price 398? Weight: 5.4 gr Diameter: 16 mm Die Axis: 45°
  13. Awesome! Aaron is the man, seen this vespasian on his channel. Ty for the pic.
  14. It's basically a live chatting platform, something like old school AOL or IRC with a few new age bells and whistles. Its nothing new, but its great to get instant replies to questions or an instant discussion. .. kinda, depending how active. I still prefer a forum or email, or at least the pace of it. Places such as discord are also owned and centralized by big corp, like a twitter. While forums have more soul IMO because the owner has more control. Discord channels are not owned by the creator, rather dicord as a whole.
  15. Any picture of the venue and dealer tables anyone is taking? Would love to see some!
  16. I am not having any luck finding a pdf, closing library is 85 miles away from me. You may have better luck. https://www.worldcat.org/title/medallic-history-of-marcus-aurelius-valerius-carausius-emperor-in-brittain-book-i/oclc/14874029
  17. I am so happy to have won this lot. I will post pictures with my phone camera once I receive it!
  18. First classic owl, and first purchase of 2023, in the mail, has not arrived yet. Not much crest or neckless, hoping for good relief as the coin is 17.17G / 24MM. 454-404 BC Kroll 8; Dewing 1591-8; SNG Copenhagen 31; HGC 4, 1597.
