Not that we love Royals here in France (we tend to prefer them a bit "shortened" 😇), but how could we miss Lizzy's 70th coronation's anniversary ? Please pile on the coins of hers you may have God save the Queen ! Q

  5. I'm afraid it's not easy reading (I would have hard time reading it in english I guess) : not what I would call a biopic, rather thoughts and feelings from Alienor to Louis and from Louis to Alienor. Thanks for posting your "maybe" Alienor coin Q Edit to add : I love that portrait of hers on the front cover, so much strenght and determination !
  6. I'm currently reading a novel about the life of Alienor d'Aquitaine who was one of the greatest character of her time, being queen of France before she became queen of England. Her first husband was Louis VII, and I have yet to get a coin of his Good catch @Severus Alexander Q

  15. My favorite ancient coin changes every other day (as well as my favorite medieval or my favorite royal)...inconstancy... 😄 Today, it might be this denarius. I bought it 40 years ago, it cost me a fortune by then (a laughable price as of today's standard) and has always been worth every penny I paid for it. Plus the engraving is fabulous especially on the reverse Severus Alexander, Denarius - Rome mint, AD 225 IMP C M AVR SEV ALEXAND AVG, Laureate head of Severus Alexander right IOVI VLTORI, Jupiter seated left holding victory and spear 3.26 gr Ref : RCV #7873 (75), Cohen #97 Q
  16. FF, you're welcome home with the tadpoles, whenever you visit France 🙂 I'm pretty sure we'll find some nice and entertaining stuff for the youngsters while we sip some french wine and look at coins Q
  17. That's an easy one Next : wolf on a RR denarius Q

  20. It might be tempting to create a second account to win the prize 😄 Q
  21. Great photos of Dubrovnik and coin. Although I've travelled many places in Europe, I've never visited the city of Dubrovnik. It's so popular now they've put a counter at the entrance of the city walls to allow only a certain amount of visitors at the same time, just like in museums. Must be very busy in the summer ! Q
  22. I like them too @Severus Alexander and got a fabulous example from the well known AMCC venue (so sorry @Mat doesn't like GIII pile-on threads, I made that one for you buddy 🙂 : A few other denarii of mine Q
  23. Exceptional coins, congrats. I would love a GIII as Caesar and an aureus too. Life is too short I guess ! Q
