airhead1983 Posted August 16, 2022 · Member Share Posted August 16, 2022 Hi Everyone, Happy mid-August! It’s hard to believe the summer is almost over, it always goes by too fast. Well, my summer is ending on a high note with the coin that was at the top of my lizard list - the Eion Macedonian AR Diobol. I really like the lizard on this coin. 😃🦎 There are a few other lizard coins on my list. But, I can’t bring myself to get a Sicilian AE tetras with the owl holding the lizard. Poor thing. 😞 A while ago, I had posted about my brother looking for a Canaanite artifact. On his hunt, he found something that intrigued him even more - a brick with a faint inscription of Nebuchadnezzar II! 😮 It came in yesterday while I was at my parents and my aunt and uncle from Newfoundland were able to get in on the action. Although the inscription is pretty much illegible, the dimensions are perfectly in line with other Nebuchadnezzar bricks that have been found. It’s big and heavy, probably about 40-50lbs. There’s an example in the British Museum that’s very similar to this brick with a much clearer inscription. It will be displayed in my parent’s living room, maybe right next to my ancient lizard, Achoo (he’s 23 yrs old now). Anyway, feel free to post anything completely IRRELEVANT, as always. 24 1 2
Benefactor DonnaML Posted August 17, 2022 · Benefactor Benefactor Share Posted August 17, 2022 A very cute lizard, and the bird is great too! I am intrigued by the brick.
airhead1983 Posted August 17, 2022 · Member Author Share Posted August 17, 2022 Thanks Donna! I, too, am intrigued by the brick! It’ll be a really good conversation piece when people go to visit my parents. Lol. I knew of the bricks, but, didn’t know that they ever came up for sale. My brother thinks this might have been a floor brick because the inscription is so worn. It’s still really cool! Erin

quant.geek Posted August 21, 2022 · Member Share Posted August 21, 2022 Very nice coin and brick! I have been meaning to get a nice Nebuchadnezzar brick, but they always seem to be priced way out of my league (or at least what my wife will let me buy 😁). The last one that went on the auction block was this one, which I really wanted, but prohibitively expensive as the hammer price was 10,000 pounds 😲...

airhead1983 Posted August 21, 2022 · Member Author Share Posted August 21, 2022 @quant.geek - nice inscription, but, ouch on the price! I don't know how much my brother paid, but, I can guarantee that it's far less than that! @Ryro - your diobol is perfect just the way it is! @Edessa - that is a fine looking tetras! Thanks again, everyone! Erin 2

Hi Erin, Lovely lizard on your coin ☺️. It's good to see you on this website for a change 😎. I don't have any lizards on coins but will post the last lizard added to my collection inside a glass paperweight. Ken Rosenfeld made this Igama lizard weight last year.

airhead1983 Posted September 4, 2022 · Member Author Share Posted September 4, 2022 @Spaniard and @expat, I love your tortoises! Although not a tortoise, I’ve always wanted to adopt a red ear slider and give it the most awesome set up ever. They’re really neglected up here as pets, often given tanks that are way too small. @Al Kowsky, that is an awesome paperweight, such a colourful lizard! @antwerpen2306, your trihemiobol is really nice! Thanks again! Erin
