David Atherton Posted December 6, 2023 · Member Posted December 6, 2023 Look OK to me. Is there reason to doubt it? 1 1 Quote
Benefactor Ancient Coin Hunter Posted December 6, 2023 · Benefactor Benefactor Posted December 6, 2023 There are some flow lines on the reverse at 2 o'clock, This suggests that the flan was indeed struck from a die as the silver tends to create rays that flow from the center to the edges of a coin, usually visible in the lettering. Look also at the edges of the coin where they might have been a seam if indeed the coin had been cast. So no, it's authentic. 2 1 Quote
John Conduitt Posted December 6, 2023 · Supporter Posted December 6, 2023 Trajan does look a bit odd, but if you look at other examples you can see some that aren't so far away in style. 1 1 Quote
Xeno Posted December 6, 2023 · Member Posted December 6, 2023 I agree with the consensus that it looks good. The surface looks a little odd but maybe just the photography or recently cleaned. 1 Quote

There are a lot of weird-looking portraits on Trajan's coins! 1 1 1 Quote
