  1. I appreciate the replies.
  2. That's what I am afraid of. More the speed than the item going missing. It isn't a 3 figure item, but still, would be a shame to see get lost.
  3. There is a non numismatic item I've been thinking of getting, but it's located in Portugal and I have never bought anything from there. It isn't any great antiquity, more like 1944. This would also be my first purchase, from over seas, since before Covid struck. Has anyone bought from Portugal within the last year or two, and if so, how was the experience? Especially when it hit customs? What was the wait time, from mailing, to delivery? I've bought from plenty of over seas countries before, but never there. Thanks for any replies.
  4. We sleep through an 4.8, here in California.

R: + LEOn/En ΘEO bA/SILEVS R/OMEOn, inscription in four lines. Constantinople (Istanbul, Turkey) mint 8.58g 26mm SBCV 1729
  6. Boy, post something to put a smile on peoples faces, and it turns into a race thing....I thought people left cointalk to move away from such topics and issues and talk about coins, history and collecting in general? Memes are no different than cartoons, movies, talk shows, music, and so on. It's just a modern form of entertainment and of course it can be used for unlikeable views, same with podcasts, twitter and so on.
  7. I'm on the PBS email list and saw they will have a new program called "Julius Caesar: The Making of a Dictator" https://www.pbssocal.org/shows/julius-caesar-the-making-of-a-dictator/preview-q5sihu?utm_source=03-30-2024&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=highlights&= I know most of us already know the history of him. They're still enjoyable to watch and sometimes they feature actual coins.

  9. Fantastic, not an animal you see on an ancient, every day.

  13. I bought this one, solely for the portrait. Valerian I (253 - 260 A.D.) AR Antoninianus O: IMP C P LIC VALERIANVS AVG, radiate, draped bust right. R: CONCORDIA EXERCIT, Concordia standing left holding patera and double cornucopiae. 21mm 3g RIC 81, Cohen 39; Sear 9929.

    Wonderful looking finds!
  17. Looking forward to seeing it cleaned up.
  18. Shame they want to empty it, I would leave it as it. Neat find, either way.
