I posted 110 of my Probus coins for sale on ebay. Please have a look. The prices are very attractive and I am open to offers:

All coins come from my private specialized Probus antoninianii collection (the second biggest Probus antoniani collection in the world) which I have been building for 12 years.

You may have come across my last auctions organized by Roma Numismatics or one of my 10 previous specialized Probus auctions organized by Rzeszowski Dom Aukcyjny and Gabinet Numizmatyczny Damian Marciniak auction houses over the last 3 years. I am curious how the sales one-bay will go.

Thanks for posting this fine collection. Looking forward to examining the coins.

The offer on ebay is only a small part of the collection. I have been selling my collection for 3 years now. My fully cataloged collection (before I started selling it) is here:

Thanks for your purchase! what's also interesting is Probus' decorated shield (3 rows of soldiers with shields).

Probus had a lot of premium shields.  I always found those TXXT issues interesting for the omission of the I in XXI.  To figure out which T is Tertia and which is Ticinum you need to see a coin from another officina like this SXXT.

I got really interested in Probus about thirty years ago when a bunch appeared on the market at lower prices.  Then, later coins were not very popular and I did not know anyone who was into Probus.   I dropped out when I failed to find any of the really special ones (Vota shield, horsehead).  It was hard for me to settle on just one specialty and Probus with his many obverses was a real contender.

I had no idea those were soldiers, I always thought it was simply a decorative pattern!

Well, the rows of soldiers with shields on Probus Ticinum coins are not always very visible and well struck. Sometimes they do look like simple dots. A lot depended on the quality of particular dies and the artistry of individual die cutters. Below are a few great examples from my collection with obvious rows of "soldiers holding shields" decorated on the shield:

I have added my last remaining Probus coins for sale on ebay today. Please have a look at my final listings of 140 Probus coins:

This is all what is left of my 2,000 coins Probus collection, excluding 32 Probus coins which I have consigned to Roma Numismatics and which will be hammered by Roma Numismatics in early September.

I know that it has obviously taken many years to acquire such a large, diverse and amazing collection of Probus coins. I am also quite sure it has also taken a lot of work and time to move your vast collection on to new collectors (to say the least).

I hope when this is all said and done you can write a post here explaining the whole process, what you've learned along the way and any advice for someone in the same position down the line. I am sure it would be a very interesting read.

Best of luck with your remaining sales. I will be putting in a few bids on eBay.

Hi. Sure. I can write a few words about the whole process once I am finished.

My listings on eBay are all in the ‘buy it now’ format so you don’t need to put any bids. you can simply buy the coins or make me offers.looking forward to your purchases.
