The Eidolon Posted December 29, 2022 · Member Share Posted December 29, 2022 I think this is my first coin from his reign. It has some scratches, but I can't be too fussy for this time period if I want anything.Shilling, Edward VI, 3rd Period of Issue, 1547-1553
JeandAcre Posted December 29, 2022 · Member Share Posted December 29, 2022 Nice one, @The Eidolon! His reign is likely to be the toughest of any of the Tudors --I sure don't have anything of his. And a shilling, no less! My guess would be that some of the faintness is original; later Tudors and early Stuarts are notorious for weak strikes, especially of the portraits.
panzerman Posted December 29, 2022 · Member Share Posted December 29, 2022 That is a fantastic coin! Congrats. I have no Edward VI or V or VIII!
ewomack Posted December 29, 2022 · Member Share Posted December 29, 2022 Nice shilling @The Eidolon! Edward VI remains one of my favorite coinage reigns, but they tend towards the pricey side, so I had to make do with some more modest examples.
