  1. Woah! Lovely writeup - and those game screenshots are pretty awesome! Here's my only Hadrian (coin dealer took rev pic upside down): I took this little guy to Hadrian's villa in Tivoli which was fun.
  2. WOAH! Awesome piece, and I love how it depicts this really moving story 😞- wonderful how many ancients help to bring myths and fables to life.
  3. Fun countermarks! I'm jealous 😆 Sadly, even though I have quite a number of coins, I have absolutely no countermarks! But I'm planning on getting a load of sigloi as I find them super appealing as a type, so hopefully I can pick some up if I do get them 🙂
  4. So, a while ago I was lucky enough to go to Rome again! It was awesome, and I loved visiting some of the amazing sites. But here I thought I'd share 3 images I like (2 of coins in their natural habitat) and one comparison. We've got: Commodus at the colosseum Hadrian at his villa Capitoline Wolf Statue And High Grade LRB Comparison If this is popular, I might post some more photos I took there! I have a lot more of the different sites, and I could also do some comparison ones too Share pictures taken with coins, coins linked to locations or sites, or simply some of the favourite ancient places you've visited!
  5. Actually I guess I have a cat photo to contribute after all! And it's linked to Rome 😄 Here's a stray cat I saw on the Palatine hill in Rome. Idk why I edited it to make it black and white - but it's the only photo I have of the cat.
  6. Loooooove that Croesus 1/6 stater! Such an awesome coin, and beats my oldest lion (Miletus Twelfth Stater) by quite an amount 🙂 That Septimius Severus is also super nice.
  7. Me too! This forum has great potential, and I'm loving how it's beginning to look like - awesome members, and with many BIG ISSUES of CT fixed here🙂
  8. Great piece! I don't have a Drusus but I'd love one someday. Although that day might be quite a while into the future when I can actually get one 😂
  9. WOW love them! Your coins are all so wonderful 🙂 And welcome - it is super nice to have such great collectors like you join.
  10. Hi all! So, I just made a little article on my website about coins of the Triple Entente in WW1 and I was wondering if any of you have cool pieces you can share? Here's my little article: https://www.ancientnumis.com/articles/effect-of-ww1-on-currency-triple-entente I've added a little image of my 2 WW1 related British gold coins, but they're cropped a bit weirdly sorry. So, yeah, post any World War One related coins you have and some stories surrounding them. I'm sure this could be really interesting!
  11. So love the coin, and the simplicity of your drawing is actually very beautiful to me!
  12. That is SUPER interesting! Never seen it before, but it looks fascinating 🙂
  13. My avatar is one I use a lot - on my Youtube channel and website as well. It was my favourite coin for a while, even though it's just a simple drachm from Philip III. The pics below are pretty bad and I'm planning on taking some better ones soon, but at least you can see the obverse of the coin there. (By the way, these aren't the exact photos used for the profile picture, but the best I could find)
  14. Lovely piece! And fun portrait :)) Here's my Commodus AE, and a picture of it at the colosseum as I thought Commodus was the most fitting emperor to bring there. Already shown that colosseum pic but I really really like it🤣
  15. Ok, here we go! Managed to get pictures of the lions as well: - A Roaring Lion (Miletus 1/2 Stater) - A Tiny Lion (Kyzikos Hemiobol - And A Lion Being Strangled To Death By Herakles 😭(Herakleia Diobol)
  16. Aww, such cute cats! 🙂 Here are my panthers (although they should probably be called leopards), a little more fierce than just a cat but I find them really fun anyway. I don't have a cat at home right now sadly as a pet, but used to have 2 kittens, and a few years before that, another cat - so I do really love them. Oh - and just remembered, I have got some fun lions too so I'll post those later if I remember.
  17. I've only got 2 mythical sea creatures, but they're both quite fun! (Also have a tunny fish and dolphin but can't find pictures of those currently) Sorry for the bad pics, but here's a Skylla (on Athena's helmet!) and a Hippocamp! 😄
  18. Yeah me too! It would sure be quite useful if members accidentally post messages twice or something, would be a good idea.
  19. Here's my best related coin (have got a few others featuring grapes and amphoras though) -may post those later- Bacchus (and ivy+grapes) Obverse, and a mask of Silenus with panther reverse! Vibius Varus 42 BC Denarius
  20. Lovely piece! Here's my bottlecap that I got as one of my coins from a LordMarcovan giveaway: (N.B. This is just a screenshot from his post, you can't actually click the blue to take you to it yeah - just kept it for a description)
  21. Lovely coin! I don't even have a griffin yet, although I love mythical creatures on ancient coins, but here's my smallest Greek fraction so far - a very common and well known Kyzikos Hemiobol. It's also one my first fractions (got a few since then) which is nice.
  22. oops accidentally sent this trying to quote TIF's post, and don't know how to delete. (just disregard this message please). Sorry
  23. Woahhhhhh that is insanely nice! I have no MSC yet 😞 so can't really contribute, but you're all making me jealous - maybe soon! So nice to see you here, @TIF! 😄
  24. Great coin and write-up! Here's my nicest coin from Kyme - I have a couple but they're all the same type I think. Somehow got this piece in a lot of 20 coins from VCoins recently, and they were each 3 pounds a coin! Was happy to see that there were some nice coins like these in that lot 🙂. In fact, that was probably one of the most fun ancient coin lots I've ever bought.
  25. Yep, which is quite fascinating! That's why I chose to bring him - when most people think of an emperor linked to the Colosseum, they think of Commodus.
