  1. Thanks 🙂 I managed to snag it off ebay for a decent price. Couldn't say "no".
  2. This is my most interesting Justin II & Sophia. Justin II and Sophia, AE Decanummium, Carthage. DN IVSTINO ET SOFIA AG (usually garbled or illegible), Facing busts of Justin (helmeted and cuirassed) and Sophia (crowned and draped), cross between their heads, VITA below / Large I, N to left, M to right, sometimes with two dots above. Sadly, I do not have a good looking follis.
  3. I haven't seen this posted yet, so here we go: On the larger side of small: Dardanos, Troas Civic Issue AE13 ca. 380-350 BC Obverse: Horseman, wearing petatos, galloping right Reverse: ΔAΡ downwards to right, cock standing right, torch in upper left field And my smallest: Kyme, Aeolis AE10 c. 350-250 BC Obverse: Eagle standing right Reverse: K-Y to left and right of cup with one handle
  4. Wow! I've not been collecting nearly as long as most of the people here but I've never seen this style. I really like it! Thanks for sharing!
  5. Donna! That is BEAUTIFUL! Such a great portrait and the depiction of Victory on the reverse...
  6. Welcome! I saw your post over on reddit a bit ago. Those are amazing! Glad to have you here.
  7. My latest Victory from Tiber Numismatics Auction 4: Acrasos, Lydia, semi-autonomous 200-268 AD AE17 Obverse: Head of Dionysos right, wreathed with ivy Reverse: AKΡACIΩTΩN, Nike walking right, holding wreath and palm branch Shipping, buyer's fee, and taxes cost almost as much as the coin did...but it's not one I had so I'm ok paying ~$17 total 🙂
  8. That is a great photo @CPK Wish I could get mine that nice!
  9. Damn....that is beautiful. Well done!
  10. This cool Byzantine overstrike came today from Netherlands. He came with a couple friends but I only had time to take pictures of this one: Constantine X Ducas with Eudocia 1059-1067 AD Follis, 6.59g, 27.90mm Constantinople Obverse: + ЄMMANOVHΛ / IC - XC. Christ Pantokrator standing facing on footstool. Reverse: Constantine and Eudocia standing facing, holding between them a labarum with cross-piece on shaft set upon three steps Note: Overstruck on Class D Anonymous Follis of Constantine IX
  11. One more reason I dislike slabbed coins. These vault boxes are redic. I thought the same when they started with modern stuff. Now it's even worse.
  12. Could be or could be patina. A soak in distilled water wouldn't hurt. BTW - I LOVE that Victory reverse!
