  1. Great coins and lovely photos, looks really spectacular πŸ™‚
  2. I think I’ll stop posting completely there too - although I might take a look at some older posts as they do contain some great information. Hopefully I’ll be able to be active here most of the time.
  3. I saw that post on CT! Wow your cabinet is awesome, personally it’s my favourite of all these storage methods in this thread and it’s wonderful that you made it yourself πŸ˜„
  4. Wow! Never knew you had so many coins - great to see all of them. Looks super nice in those trays too!
  5. I’m beginning to find this too as I buy group lots and stuff - but sadly SAflips are much more expensive in the UK than the US unless you buy lots of them to make up for shipping costs.
  6. And welcome Mat! Glad to see you were able to join as well πŸ˜„. This forum is looking amazing in terms of wonderful collector members!
  7. Welcome! Hope you like it here πŸ™‚
  8. Really nice! I have a 1791 Monneron Freres token, but it's nowhere near as nice as yours πŸ™‚
  9. Hi all! So, I know there's a thread for posting your latest coin purchases, but how about one for coin books? Here you can post when you get a new coin book you like πŸ™‚ I'll start off. Firstly, I got this super nice big book (in French) about carved gems and Roman Republican coins featuring all sorts of animals. It has some wonderful close-ups and lots of info (plus I like to collect animal coins) so probably my favourite addition to my numismatic library so far. The second one is a reprint of an old catalogue from the late 19th Century. I got it as a gift from a family member because they know I collect ancients. It's not really related to what I collect or anything, and is just descriptions, but it's still cool! So yeah, share your most recent coin books you've bought πŸ˜„
  10. Welcome! Looking forward to seeing what you post πŸ™‚
  11. Really like this! Those look like some cool artefacts or something at the bottom too - what are they?
  12. Oooh lovely! Maybe one day if I have the chance to get some really nice tetradrachms - I might get some of these. They look sooooo nice, and I imagine they're super well made.
  13. That's a big stack of trays for sure! I love that feature of them - and for my collection they're good enough quality.
  14. WOW! This thread is full of such beautiful toned coins. I looooooove your second last one - think the rainbow toning works very well - but I think all are great πŸ™‚
  15. John!!! That's a lovely coin (think I saw it on the discord πŸ™‚) So so glad to see you here, and really happy you could join. Wow there are more and more great new members here every day πŸ˜„
  16. So, I know there were a lot of threads like this back on CT. But I couldn't find any here yet and I thought it would be fun to start one as it might be fun. I'm a real tray guy - I love 'em. You can easily see coins, and it's super easy to handle them (that's the best bit of the hobby imo - especially ancients πŸ˜„) For my favourite modern coins, they go in cheap trays, and my ancients (plus medieval + gold) have some nicer stackable Lighthouse ones (plan to get more of these in the future). A lot of my 'bulk' coins like old pennies will just go in boxes, though. How do YOU store your coins? Also, feel free to ask questions about storing coins and related stuff here - let's make this a great thread for beginners too if they're looking for ideas! Look forward to seeing how you all take care of them! πŸ™‚
  17. Ok - I don't have many toned coins but here's a Trajan close up with the beginning of some lovely red! As it's Trajan (very military emperor), I almost think of this as 'blood' like πŸ˜‚ I'll check my collection, and see if I can come up with other fun toned pieces to contribute.
  18. Yay! Every day you post a new video is a great one πŸ˜„ Watching it right now - and It seems great like every single one of your videos! Don't have even a Siliqua yet, as I don't have many late Roman coins but this is making it super appealing to me. Thank YOU Leo, don't know what I'd do without your informative and super high quality videos, can't stress enough how much I love 'em πŸ™‚
  19. Now THAT would be great for @Paddy54 🀣!
  20. That is very interesting! If I happen to write another little article about WW1 coins, it might be fun for me to take a look at these coins.
  21. That was what I was thinking of asking too! Sure would be cool.
  22. You seem to have a loooooooot of WW1 themed coins @Paddy54! Really nice
  23. Super fun coins! Love your fractional sigloi. I think mine is the same diameter and shape as a regular siglos, just that it's super porous. I'm still not completely sure how it happens to that extent, but I've been told it's probably just something to do with a lower silver purity and the production of them?
