  1. My sincere condolences...many of us whom have had pets know the feeling of the loss of...I recieved my first pup for my 7th birthday...other than a few college years as Missy did live over 14 years..so I was 21 when I lossed her..Ive had a pet just about my entire life.... 1 Red belly conure and quite a few pups. But as a pet owner we all know theres a beginning and a end. ...but still like our pets at times we live in the now. And now I feel your loss...and can only say....like our famlies our pets are so much a part of our daily lives. They are family...they are what makes us smile...remember those smiles, those minuites in life that bring or brought us joy..... then remember that we to are mortal. And us to have a beginning and a end. But just know that after ...we will be united again...and for all time...eterinty..not just a few short years or decades. I know in my ♡ that one day my time will come...I fear not death....as i know that waiting for me will be all those souls, both two and four legged...winged or not will be waiting ....and for all time we wont be cheated by death...but united in eternity. For those of you who don't believe that our animals will not join us in heaven...well then I want to go where they are....as no just god would ever deny unconditional love! To any of their creations... By deepest condolences for your loss... Paddy
  2. Your taking the cheese bank? Where the famers take their cheeses for aging At which they get an advance for their cheese, and when finished aging they sell and pay the bank back for aging and storage. Yes there's a 60 minuite tv show that shows the process from A to Z.
  3. Now a fast dinner 30 minuites prep to table. I love seafood...and I make a fish that you will love. I use cod portions about 6 to 8 oz. Cuts. You'll need Mayo, lemon juice, minced garlic, seafood season, and shedded parm cheese. Assemble the items above.... now the amounts will vary, as you personally may like it Spicer or less.... A couple table spoons of mayo in a bowl, add the garlic to taste,a splash of lemmon juice, seafood seasoning Jo or old bay, to taste, and about a 1/4 cup of parm cheese. Mix well. Place you fish skin side down, coat a nice thick layer of the mixture. Now depending on the fish thickness bake @ 400 f at least 20 minuites or until the meat is white and flaky....don't over cook .the sauce will turn a nice brown on top creamy color under. You can substitute the Jo or old bay by another seasoning that your taste prefers. This recipe turns bland white fish into a gourmet meal...that you'll love. I also use it on * shrimp to bake them with the sauce. * Less time same temp .
  4. Have you ever cracked a Reggino Parmesan cheese? Reggino parm is one of Italy's most popular cheeses. And rightful so... its a hard cheese that makes Italian dishes ,salads, and soup taste wonderful! Now please if your time allows research this product I belive its history, production, and usages will enlighten you in your kitchen. The image below is of a quarter wheel of parm. One uses cheese chisel to crack the wheel. You score the cheese top...and then use another chisel to pry it open... like cutting tile, or stone the scoring will be where the item will break. This product needs not be refrigerated, and now hear this...all you lactose intolerant folks... cheeses aged to this point or time...are lactose free! Yes and heres another tip.... any cheese aged like this and now a days one can just about find a cheese in most cheese famlies...will also be lactose free! You will see Cheddar, swiss, gouda, aged to the point where that cheese meets parm...is free of lactose so no I'll effect from lactose as it all has aged out! So gang....say fromage or cheese as now you can enjoy something new that at one point made you ill.
  5. Since the age of 12 I have work in the food business, at 12 I worked for a family friend in their bakery. I am a federally licenced food handler, a meat cutter, as well cheese expert! And to be honest the word " expert" isn't a term I use much,as i am a firm believer in learning something daily...that said I'm not an expert, but do know quite a bit about food. As an expert already knows it all. 🙂 so this thread is decated to food any and all types, helpful hints, recipes, and how to do. Please share your favourite dishes, your ideas on new recipes, and just sharing last nights dinner. show us your finished products, and your secrets of making your family to say YUM! Bon Appetit
  6. Well once again you resident cherrypicker has eyed something. https://sites.google.com/view/clintcummins/half-dime-attribution-guide The link is a work in progress atribution guide. It was originally started by Mr. Halfdime himself. Now handed over to Clint to finish and run the site. The specimen in question is an 1847 half dime. I believe that it is an R-7 coin. The V2 attribution. If it is what I expect it could be a very nice find as well worth at least 10 to 15 times the price I paid under $90. Do you see square rims? A give away to olxer proof strikes. There are a few examples and you be able to read the data on the year 1847 half dime mintages. Theres also some well know collections spoken of...whom had this variety. If nothing else you will have a good read, and some knowledge of this date and series. The link I suggest to book mark for any future reference. Its really a nice tool. Paddy
  7. I was a avid fisherman back in my youger years.... I fish the Chesapeake and Delaware bay, as well off the Outer Banks of NC. The group shot was a sea trout torument out of Lewis Delaware, the 80 lb Wahoo taken off shore of North Carolina. The trout "aka Weakfish" went from 16lbs.8oz. To 7 lbs.... that was a crazy day...as late afternoon radar showed a small squall coming in ....we pull up and headed back in....some weren't as smart and that storm killed 7 . We had planned an early start the next day....but the coast guard had the fishing grounds hunting the lost fishermen. The wahoo was one of my favorite catches....it was like a fishing rod attached to a torpedo! Man did it run....that same day from the fly bridge I spoted a large Mako sunning itself on top of the water....I guess 12 foot +/-...as I yelled for the 308 to take a shot....the boat coming off plane it sounded.... and no shot could be taken... but what a day! These were days way before cel phones...so no photos....but those visions are and will always be with me. 🙂
  8. Wow folks...I am so happy to see all those great post.... I had no idea that this thread be so exciting seeing all those different types of animals... I thank you all for your support, and stories...yeah i know its a coin forum...but isn't it nice to know that we share other interest? But most of all the unity it brings. Another fun fact of mine is....my photos taken by accident or on a whim....always end up better than those planned. I'm very proud to be a member here, as very happy having support from new friends! Cheers ;.... "friendship is the wine of life....may your cups always be full...and those who have gone...their memories never forgotten " Salinte bottoms up...
  9. Beatiful thank you for sharing... 🤗 I love watching the river otters play....Depending what part of my state you are in we have black bears, wild cats, coyote, when I did hunt I go though the swamps.. and wow... was never disappointed on the daily sights. My wife would ask me why I leave at 4 am...sit in a pit to hunt geese....well it matter not if I pulled the trigger...it was out in nature with a cup of coffee a good retriever and ...mother nature waking up. Evey morning at 8:30 the deer would run the heage behinde anothe blind we had. Two hawks would dance across the sky... and I sit and wait for what else mother nature was going to please my eyes with... thats why I can sleep any time or where...I can't buy with money...what mother nature gave me free. We do have some animals that aren't from here nutrea large SA rats were raised here durring the fur trade days. After that went bust the farmer let them go....bad move! As they will make mess out of a farm field feeding.... reminds me of ROUS from princess bride in the fire swamp. Rodents of unusual size. 🙂
  10. Harry before his change lol...would also come in the kitchen and sit on mom's cabnets. We wouldn't let her got futher inside..but she and her pups were a joy . Here in Maryland around DC there are both black and grey squirrels. But most of the Black Squrrels stay right within the DC beltway. About year ago walking my pups I saw a black one in our neighborhood and was really shocked on how a black squrrel is 35 miles from the area they are most prevalent. Now we are loaded with Foxes! I could make a coat every week with the number of fox we have.....and they too get too friendly as one Sunday morning we took the pups out for our walk. In the next court on the driveway apron a fox licking its self.... yup it saw us walking and we kept going it decided that it would follow us on the walk....we also had a yearling deer follow us walking around the neighborhood. It was funny an older gent was sitting on his porch having his morning coffee.... he calls down to us you know there's a deer following you? LoL yeah we do....thanks
  11. In my high school days I had a squrrel an Eastern grey squrrel...who I fed by hand. I name it Harry...But one day Harry had nipples...so a name change was due...so Harry became Harriet. I sit under the maple tree and read..and Harriet would stop by for peanuts...one day I was out and Harriet came by..I gave her a nut...and went back to my book...I felt another touch on my hand...I looked up and she had brought her pups over to introduce them to me...and some free nuts. What was funny I had young neices, and nephews...at this time...and somehow in their minds...a squrrel was a Harry! So every time they see a squrrel they scream out look there's Harry!
  12. This basin is a nursery for Ducks, geese, ground hogs, snakes,frogs..Etc.. so this hawk has a daily meal plan...Depending on who ventures out in the open.
  13. Please feel free to post your photos of your local wildlife. The beautiful Red tail hawk hunts the water retention basin either from the over flow tube..or a huge large dead oak which over looks the basin. I wast an avid sportsman years ago mostly ducks and geese. I no longer hunt as I need not the food or need not to kill...unless a good reason. I am shocked as to the amount of wild life we have here in an urban setting 10 miles South of Baltimore and same North of Annapolis. We have and unbelievable amount of Eagles,Hawks, even wild turkeys! White tail deer, beaver, and a host of woodland creatures....racoons, possums, muskrat, and more. I am and always have been in love with mother nature... she never disappoints...as long as you're looking she's giving you a one on one with nature.
  14. That buffalo nickel had been in a 2x2 flip for over 40 years.... and the vergis had pretty much trashed the coin...even treated you can see some dark areas...but it removes the rot and stops it from returning if used as directed.
  15. Here's a buffalo nickel I treated today to show another member. Now remember it is a type of medal rot so depending on how bad it is...your results may vary. But I swear by this stuff...
  16. Hey folks...I'm going to make a suggestion to all of you with coppers and copper nickel specimens. Do yourself a favor and order a bottle of Verdicare. Verdicare is a solution that will remove all that green vergis green rot. It will arest any hot spots...and preserve the coin. I am currently helping another member who has a nice selection of coins however most have vergis on them. I also treat my new specimens that I obtain as over the years I have seen the rot travel in a coin album. So my advise dip them in acetone...dry and treat with verdicare. Verdicare can be purchased from Wizard coin supplies...out of Fairfax Va. USA ...it has just returned to stock...as it wasn't available for a couple years. I have a small bottle as a little goes a long way...but it became so hard to find...I had offers over 5 times the cost...as most dealers I know use it on problem coins. I guarantee it works great! You'll be posting back here on this thread as to how great a product it is.
  17. Here's a extremely rare US fish scale.... its a 1852/2 less than 10 known examples ...and in xf details its one of the highest graded ...as none over vf that have graded straight. What's also crazy is the term "minor variety" LoL....I think not... the date has an inverted 2 over the 1
  18. Very cool notes Steve...guess what I also collect Canadian notes...nothing like those...but yeah Canadian and here's a curve ball I collect Cuban notes also! Wow now how does a US citizen have access to Cuban, notes, cigars, and rum? As I hear in the background the song smugglers blues...lol
  19. Minted here in the states....majority of these were crated in a hurry and dumped in the Manila bay so the Japanese army couldn't capture durring their occupation of the Philippines islands.
  20. A YN friend who Ive had the pleasure to befriend sent this set to me last week. Jeff is such a nice kid....and he actually goes to school in Singapore. He wanted to gife me something and he chose this nice set. I removed the coins as the plastic to my knowledge has PVC in it....each coin had a very fine coating of dust like ...so my suspicion was correct... as that dust was CN medal. And yeah if your under 20 your a kid...old guys rule...lol
  21. Wow Erin you pulled that one out of an old hat....lol its a good thing im old enough to remember and still young enough to enjoy! Thanks for your post... 😉
  22. Thanks steve....I always appreciated our friendship and the way you all roll... I have nothing but respect for all of you... I have watched over the years...and must say I am impressed and have been.... for quite awhile. This is why I'm here now! And will contribute as much as possible both financially as well knowledge wise... in the 10 + years elsewhere I never gave 1 cent towards support....other than individual members...and YN's . And there's a very good reason why. No need to ruin a party with old B.S. 🙂
  23. Well even tooled I like it as it reminds me of an a alien...a grey...or other being. I like the Dolphins....as well color... Now mind you I did have about 8 others years ago...when my focus was more on series I do collect...mostly 5 cent coins ,IHC, half dimes, Mercury dimes. Some of these are complete..some missing a coin here and there... but again times change as well people.. likes and dislikes.. but again I always appreciate anything given to me. My mum had an old Irish saying " expect nothing...and be happy what you get"....truer words I am blessed to have my small family and close friends...as for material items Well they are nice, but aren't what makes life worthwhile . Yes they can make life easyer...but at the end the only things your can take with you....are the memories, and the kind words expressed to your family from others. Everything else is what ...? Things that someone will end up fighting over... With...No use to you.... 🙂
