  6. Wow sweet stuff there ....a woodie one too... both are very nice specimens thanks for your post.
  7. I was referring to the Pocahontas one from the 1901...Buffalo expo. But again that was a dealers asking price...but again...I haven't seen that 1 before or your two specimens. That said a definitive value is what the market bears...? IDK I wish Jamez book was ready for publication.
  8. A very good Friend Jamez Motley who also happens to be president of CONECA ,I know has been working on a book on elongated coins. I've been pushing him at times to get it done...I believe that he plan to go with color images rather than the black and white ones he had. Plus in the age of covid everything is on a different schedule. Making simply task very complex unfortunately.
  9. Thats very cool thanks for your post, now I've only had seen one of these ...1 time before but like yours it was graded in an NGC . It was from the Buffalo expo 1901 on an IHC but featured Pocahontas! And was told it was quite rare as it was priced at $450. I've never have seen the Fulton ones before....they must be hens teeth.
  10. I need to find and post an B&W image that we got when my Father in Law passed. Dad fought in both theaters of WWll. However a photo he took I'm guessing was from a troop plane shows a beatiful Cathedral. Whats so cool is you can see the shadow of his aircraft in the court yard....but one conversion that Dad spoke of the war ...as he was in the battle of the Bulge, as well liberated death camps prior to his time spent in the Pacific...was the Cathedrals. His remarks of how beautiful they were , and Im guessing a true sanctuary from the destruction of the countries. Thank you for you contribution...I hope to have other postive post...and for all to enjoy.
  11. I appreciate your speedy reply and insight to this issue. My post was not started to create an issue here ,but to educate and enjoy. You may speak for this person and I respect your word. As for him I have no use for a member who entices negatively to another members post..... I have many friends here as well thoughout the hobby, I have been published as well received awards for my articles....I have no respect or need such a negative person posting their juvenile views to reply to any of my post. And please understand that I joined this forum to post, enjoy and discuss coins, not to argue with any member who posts are just plain ignorant and something that one would expect from an uneducated inmature child. My apologies for any disruptions my thread wasn't posted for that reason. Regards Paddy54
  12. This particular specimen was most probably a give me at the companies booth or stand at the expo. I do not know that for a fact....it may of been a item sold. It is a watch fob for the end of the chain. It also if you notice the bottom below the date a screw driver like blade...that was a useful tool to open the watch as they needed to be wound daliy and this would be the pry to open the case...funny what was a useful tool 129 years ago is now a small part of a souvenir collection.
  13. You know the internet is a wonderful place...unfortunately trolls like yourself always seen to craw out from under slimy rock and do what Trolls do best... Show to the world that they are just a slimy no nothing troll...who brings nothing to the party but their ignorance and disruption to what ever they touch. Lets hope that the powers being " not mommy" recognize you true porpose in like being a full time "TROLL" and ban you before you infect other post with your pompous and despicable attitude towards other members interest and post. Do us all a major favor....crawl back under your rock....and do what ever "TROLLS" do..... besides trying to disrupt a forum that shares the interest of all members...not just the resident TROLL! My apologies to the membership for this...but as you can see this member started with me....used curse words....editing them and trying to disturb the membership here. I have reported it to the powers being... and again apologize to the membership...as for the "TROLL" I'm relatively sure it won't apologize just continue to disrupt the membership and cause situations as such.....until its forced to leave.
  14. Keep editing all you want... as all your post as written have been reported to the powers being !

  17. You know a very cool thought if this forum could come up with a design and elongated coin as a fund raiser to support it. In fact it be very cool to have one with the forums inauguration date....as well a neat logo . Now I understand that they couldn't bevrolled on an Acient coin... but the design could be one 🙂
  18. I've never been across the pond...most of my travels have been throughout the Caribbean, Mexico,Canada, and the states of course. But I am quite aware of the Ravens in the Tower of London. In fact I recall my brother telling a story of one landing onnthe block as he toured the tower.
  19. Let's see what 5 cent piece buying power in 1893>>>>> mr. Peabody lets set the "way back machine to 1893 Chicago US of A >>>>>> $100 usd in 1893 is equal to $3292.34 usd 2022 so a nickel in 1893 would be $1.65 in today's money.
  20. Now this isn't actually a coin or an elongated one...but again a souvenir of the 1893 Columbian Expo .... want to take a guess? As to its porpose??? 🙂
