VanillaBean Posted April 16 · Member Share Posted April 16 (edited) Hello, While look through a large lot of random coins I came across this coin. It left me perplexed because one side is stamped as normal while on the reverse side it is mirrored and indented. Any idea what happened here? Sorry if the photos aren't great. Thanks! CPK Posted April 16 · Supporter Share Posted April 16 That would be called a brockage for ancient coins (I suppose the term applies to moderns as well?) I've never seen this type of error on a modern coin, though. Interesting!
akeady Posted April 16 · Supporter Share Posted April 16 (edited) What are the weight and diameter? It doesn't look like a genuine George VI coin. This, for example, is an unexciting halfpenny with the same obverse legend: ATB, Aidan. Edited April 16 by akeady
VanillaBean Posted April 16 · Member Author Share Posted April 16 Yea, it's decently small. So, maybe not authentic then
John Conduitt Posted April 16 · Supporter Share Posted April 16 It's the size of a farthing but too light and doesn't look authetic at all.
Qcumbor Posted April 16 · Supporter Share Posted April 16 Looks like a fantasy coin to me either Q
