Restitutor Posted September 23, 2022 · Administrator Share Posted September 23, 2022 He doesn’t look a day over 2,000, don’t ya think? 😁 The man who needs no introduction, Augustus: While back in Rome earlier this year on my Honeymoon, I had the pleasure of once again visiting the House of Livia, and the House of Augustus. These houses, along with the Domus Aurea, have got to be my favorite places to visit. And of course, the ultimate pilgrimage destination for any Augustus/Roman fanboy/girl: Please join in the birthday celebrations with whatever Augustus-related content you have! 🥳 15 2 1 4

So lustrous 😍 I have started re-photographing all my coins (again!) now that the iPhone 14 Pro has come in (current photo in OP is from 13 Pro). Here’s the new non-formatted images, I think a tad brighter than before:

I trimmed & paired the photos together. 9

Etcherdude Posted September 24, 2022 · Supporter Share Posted September 24, 2022 (edited) @kapphnwn I’m going to guess the battle most associated with him, plus the ACT on the reverse exergue, Actium? CPK Posted September 24, 2022 · Supporter Share Posted September 24, 2022 Definitely one of the greatest figures in world history. A couple Augustus tetradrachms - Sometime I should try and get some better photos of the slabbed one.

Well I just spent quite a bit of time tonight trying to get some half-decent photos of the above tetradrachm. The slab sure made things difficult! 😠 And unfortunately, you can't avoid having the little plastic fingers get in the photo. However, I'm reasonably satisfied with the results.
