  1. I have only one of this type but it is one of my favorites. 😊 I am just going backwards through posts to catch up- after traveling most of the summer I didn't have any time for the computer! Here is my RIC 677:
  2. Congratulations @Roman Collector, even though it is fantasy it is a really nice piece. I had it in my watch list. 😁
  3. @Roman Collector This one is also currently for sale: (same as the Baldwin sale coin)
  4. I am almost a week slow getting to FF! Life gets busy. πŸ˜… I have two examples of Faustina for the Juno Regina type and one with just Juno. I am fortunate enough to have obtained both the standing and seated Juno Regina. Here are mine- and because it is Juno, even though it is not a Juno Regina!
  5. Pretty sure mine is an obverse die match to the OP from Roma. Glad they corrected it. ( I can see how it could be mistaken for pearls!)
  6. I collect mostly "The Ladies of Rome". With a very heavy interest in Julia Domna. I have approx. 350 coins in this category, with about 1/3 being JD. I also have an interest in roman provincial coins of Stobi and have 110+ in that category.
  7. @robinjojo @CPK @Ocatarinetabellatchitchix @Roman Collector Thank you for the suggestions! I was able to get the payment through by signing out and entering from the browser. Same problem as @Roman Collector for some reason if you enter the site and sign in from the email/invoice- the payment system will not work. Thank you all very much! Robin
  8. Hello, Anyone here that has some advice on Roma Numismatics Auction payments? I have not purchased from the auction before and "won" three coins in the last auction. I tried to make payment several times through the invoice and pay by card. It always goes to an error message: I did try through several devices, but no luck. Anyone that has purchased recently that can tell me what I am doing wrong? Does the credit card payment portal work normally? I am trying to figure out if this is a me problem or maybe everyone does wire transfers? (I sent an email but did not receive a reply back from Roma) Many thanks for any advice! Robin
  9. I like your Sulzer #1525, I have this type in Dupondius but would like to hunt down the Sestertius. Thank you for another edition of FF! πŸ˜„
  10. Wonderful write up, I wouldn't mind a Sacrificing Vestal virgins and priests coin also. 😁 I unfortunately only have one Sestertius of Faustina II and it does not fall in these pages! I am looking forward to the next edition of FF!
  11. I was hoping for this! I will be looking forward to your Friday posts to see the rest of the entries and your insights! Here are my mine (some of these are my favorite Faustina II coins): Sulzer #1485: Sulzer #1487-1488: Sulzer #1489-1490: Sulzer #1491-1492: Sulzer #1493-1494: Sulzer #1496: Sulzer #1497-1498: Sulzer #1499: Sulzer #1500:
  12. I would love to add one of the sestertius temple types. My denarius:
  13. I am always a fan of Septimius and Domna from Emesa. Although I don't think I would have noticed the shortened legend either (maybe now!). I still have my Domna Emesa coins Ex-Maridvnvm. πŸ˜„
  14. That is baffling, but maybe there were just a couple bidders who very much wanted it. I have well overpaid for several coins in bidding wars. πŸ˜… I aquired one of these in an old collection I bought, along with a coin of Rajendra Chola I and a tiny gold fanam with an elephant. Here is mine:
  15. I would most definitely scoop up this Sabina Tetradrachm that I have been stalking. It is for sale for exactly 1,000. πŸ˜„ (not my photo/dealer pic)
  16. What a lovely Holiday! Here is my newest addition to my ladies:
  17. I think it is a very charming custom and your little chimney sweep is wonderful!
  18. I am intrigued by the "little marches"! I don't have any from Caria, but I do have this lovely little rosette from Ionia.
  19. what happens when a Scott runs off with a Scandinavian πŸ˜„ 44% Norway, Sweden, Denmark and 42% Scotland, Ireland
  20. It does seem unlikely that it is die-engraver errors, great article and another fine Faustina Friday. πŸ™‚ Here is DIVA AVG obverse legend/Ae As: Ae As; 10.46g; 24mm DIVA AVG - FAVSTINA Draped bust right AETERNITAS Aeternitas seated left, holding Phoenix on globe and scepter SC in exergue
  21. I can add some more grain! As a celiac, I will refrain from celebrating with a loaf of bread today πŸ˜„
  22. While Julia Domna is my favorite of the Ladies- I will share a different one for this! Marcia Otacilia Severa had not a long time on top and a reign that ended in tragedy. I cannot imagine what it was like being a mother to future rulers in Roman times or how they carried on after tragedies such as Philip II or Geta.
  23. What a lovely rabbit hole to fall down! Provincial holes are absolutely an adventure to rival Alice's. 😁 I had this happen when I bought a coin of Julia Domna from Stobi. It led to a few more of hers from Stobi, then an interesting one of Caracalla, then Geta, and why not Septimius too? I should have the whole family! Then a few Marcus Aurelius... over 110 coins later I still have not found the light at the end of the rabbit hole!
