Faustina Friday β Faustina the Youngerβs Greatest Hit!
arizonarobin replied to Roman Collector's topic in Faustina Friday
I have only one of this type but it is one of my favorites. π I am just going backwards through posts to catch up- after traveling most of the summer I didn't have any time for the computer! Here is my RIC 677: -
Congratulations @Roman Collector, even though it is fantasy it is a really nice piece. I had it in my watch list. π

Faustina Friday β IVNONI REGINAE: for Juno the Queen
arizonarobin replied to Roman Collector's topic in Faustina Friday
I am almost a week slow getting to FF! Life gets busy. π I have two examples of Faustina for the Juno Regina type and one with just Juno. I am fortunate enough to have obtained both the standing and seated Juno Regina. Here are mine- and because it is Juno, even though it is not a Juno Regina!- 7 replies

Do you specialize in ONE emperor (or one theme) ?
arizonarobin replied to Ocatarinetabellatchitchix's topic in Roman Empire
I collect mostly "The Ladies of Rome". With a very heavy interest in Julia Domna. I have approx. 350 coins in this category, with about 1/3 being JD. I also have an interest in roman provincial coins of Stobi and have 110+ in that category.- 33 replies

@robinjojo @CPK @Ocatarinetabellatchitchix @Roman Collector Thank you for the suggestions! I was able to get the payment through by signing out and entering from the browser. Same problem as @Roman Collector for some reason if you enter the site and sign in from the email/invoice- the payment system will not work. Thank you all very much! Robin

Hello, Anyone here that has some advice on Roma Numismatics Auction payments? I have not purchased from the auction before and "won" three coins in the last auction. I tried to make payment several times through the invoice and pay by card. It always goes to an error message: I did try through several devices, but no luck. Anyone that has purchased recently that can tell me what I am doing wrong? Does the credit card payment portal work normally? I am trying to figure out if this is a me problem or maybe everyone does wire transfers? (I sent an email but did not receive a reply back from Roma) Many thanks for any advice! Robin

That is baffling, but maybe there were just a couple bidders who very much wanted it. I have well overpaid for several coins in bidding wars. π I aquired one of these in an old collection I bought, along with a coin of Rajendra Chola I and a tiny gold fanam with an elephant. Here is mine:

Strong women of the Roman era - show us your coins!
arizonarobin replied to Prieure de Sion's topic in Roman Empire
While Julia Domna is my favorite of the Ladies- I will share a different one for this! Marcia Otacilia Severa had not a long time on top and a reign that ended in tragedy. I cannot imagine what it was like being a mother to future rulers in Roman times or how they carried on after tragedies such as Philip II or Geta.- 35 replies

What a lovely rabbit hole to fall down! Provincial holes are absolutely an adventure to rival Alice's. π I had this happen when I bought a coin of Julia Domna from Stobi. It led to a few more of hers from Stobi, then an interesting one of Caracalla, then Geta, and why not Septimius too? I should have the whole family! Then a few Marcus Aurelius... over 110 coins later I still have not found the light at the end of the rabbit hole!
