  1. Great pick up David. Here's one of mine from the Cat Nip Coiner. Common, but it's one of my favorite Domitians. IMP CAES DOMIT AVG GERM COS XIII CENS PER PP Laureate head of Domitian right FORTVNAE AVGVSTI SC Fortuna standing left holding rudder and cornucopiae Rome 87 AD 10.9g RIC 544 (C3)
  2. Berk always has high quality coins, but I find their website cumbersome to navigate and I rarely go there.
  3. Doesn't work for me either
  4. What happened to Eric? He used to participate over at Forum all the time. I don't focus on just one Emperor but I mostly collect Vespasian, Titus and Mark Antony but also Southern Italic coins. https://www.forumancientcoins.com/gallery/index.php?cat=18312
  5. Perhaps a mule with an obverse of Roma from the previous issue of Sergius Silus or Domitius 116-115 BCE
  6. You're welcome! 😄 I bought this at the same time from the same dealer! https://www.forumancientcoins.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pid=182138 T CAESAR VESPASIANVS Laureate head right IMP XIII Goatherd, seated left, milking goat left Rome, July 77-December 79 CE RIC 985V (R) 3.08g Ex-Germania Inferior Numismatics Part of the agrarian series under Vespasian, perhaps promoting a more simpler way of life or the bounty that is provided by the Emperor. This one being minted for Titus. While only listed as Rare in RIC, this type is exceedingly difficult to find in trade, even more so than the one for Vespasian, and is a favorite of collectors. Only 3 others in Forum galleries (orfew, 2 Atherton). Wonderful toning in hand.
  7. Even though rated as common, these Flavian quinarii are difficult to find. Great catch. Here's one of mine RIC 0809 (V) Titus Quinarius T CAESAR IMP VESPASIAN Laureate head right VICTORIA AVGVST Victory seated left with wreath and palm Rome, 75 CE? 1.47g RIC 809 (R3) die matched to the Sneh coin Legends begin from high left. Ex-ANE From RIC: "Assigned to this year because there are no dated quinarii of 75, and the appearance of either AVGVST or AVGVSTI on the reverse suggests transition between the earlier series, up to 74 (with AVGVSTI) and later series, 76 onwards (with AVGVST).
  8. Either one of us should have bought it a few months earlier🤣
  9. Not common to find a hinge in such good condition. Congrats!
  10. And also unfortunately...not mine😄 Great pick up David
  11. My 2 oldest provenances come from the Reusing/Schürer collection. Reusing was a German portrait painter of the early 20th Century whose portraits included Richard Strauss, Igor Strawinsky, Max Planck, and Albert Einstein. After Reusing's death his nephew Paul Schürer inherited and curated the collection. IMP CAES DOMIT AVG GERM COS XI CENS POT P P Laureate head right with Aegis SC Mars advancing left with Victory and trophy Rome, 85 CE 13.67g RIC 387 (C) Holed in antiquity and plugged in the late 19th century? Olding tag incorrectly attributed to RIC 420 (different ending to legend) DIVVS AVGVSTVS VESPASIANVS Laureate head right EX SC Victory advancing left placing shield on trophy; below, Judaea seated left Rome 80-81 CE, after the deification of Vespasian 2.91g RIC 364 (C) Ex-Manfred Olding 2019 no 180;Ex-Paul Schürer (1890-1976); Ex-Fritz Reusing (1874-1956)with handwritten tag.
  12. I think it's just the lighting and photography. First pic has a much sharper focus.
  13. As previously mentioned, I've purchased quite a few coins from this seller. All my shipments came through Israel Post and arrived rather quickly. I've been very happy. There is a coin I was considering but after following this thread, I sent the seller a message through ebay. I asked where the coins are shipped from, Israel or Europe. He confirmed Europe and that it would "truly take time to deliver." I wonder if this is a way to get around the export permit? I do see some listings that sold beginning of February have already received items and feedback left. Hopefully this is a temporary glitch and you get your coins soon.
  14. One of my absolute favorites from your collection David. Here's my Domitian from the same dealer and same previous collection! IMP CAES DOMITIAN AVG P M COS VIII laureate head of Domitian to right CA PIT across field, RESTIT in exergue tetrastyle temple of Jupiter Optimus Maximus Capitolinus, containing statues of the Capitoline Triad, Jupiter seated left between standing figures of Juno and Minerva Rome for circulation in the East A.D. 82 Rare 10.83g RIC 841 (C), S.2715, BMC 251, RSC 23, RPC 864 Ex-Calgary Coin, From the MS collection; Ex-G&M auction 147 lot 1813 March 2006
  15. All my shipments from them have been very quick and I've never had an issue. They've always been shipped from Israel and a take a week, maybe two to reach Canada.
  16. Wow! Metaponton! That's in my neck of the woods. I've never met a non-Italian who's ever been there. Nobody really goes to the south. That part of Italy has some amazing sites that nobody visits. You can have the whole place to yourself. How did you get there?
