Roman Coins In Rome!

So, a while ago I was lucky enough to go to Rome again! It was awesome, and I loved visiting some of the amazing sites. But here I thought I'd share 3 images I like (2 of coins in their natural habitat) and one comparison. 

We've got:
Commodus at the colosseum
Hadrian at his villa
Capitoline Wolf Statue And High Grade LRB Comparison 

If this is popular, I might post some more photos I took there! I have a lot more of the different sites, and I could also do some comparison ones too

Ok, here are some more pics from my visit, but I’ve got a fun little game! Can any of you guess where or what these are? Most are pretty easy to be honest, but hopefully it’ll still be fun. Beware though, some are from the same sort of place and one or two aren’t super famous I’d say...

#2 -- I believe is also Ostia, the public forum area

#3 -- the Pantheon

#4 -- appears to be one of the statues inside the Pantheon, but I'm not sure

#5 -- Hadrian's villa

#6 -- ?

#7 -- Can't remember which arch this is...

#8 -- something to do with Augustus?

#9 -- Colosseum

#10 -- lower level inside Colosseum

#11 -- part of the Forum near the Colosseum, not exactly sure which ruin this is

#12 -- Marcus Aurelius bronze (reproduction of original in Capitoline museum?)

I tried buying a coin in Rome, but all stores were so outrageously overpriced that I just decided to see the beautiful scenery and art instead 🙂

Lovely! Looks like you visited some awesome places - haha I remember those large body part statues outside the Capitoline museum, that was funny.

If your defaced number 6 was in a Greek museum, @AncientNumis you’d be correct in calling him Heracles.

Ostia Antica is underrated. I liked it better than Pompeii.
