Benefactor robinjojo Posted February 15 · Benefactor Benefactor Share Posted February 15 (edited) I checked RPC online but could not find a match for this coin, which is quite crude and worn. I think the reverse depicts Serapis, but I am not sure about the date. Does anyone have information on this coin? Thanks! 11.02 grams Edited February 15 by robinjojo

Your coin looks like Year 5 spelled out, not year 4. 1

Benefactor robinjojo Posted February 15 · Benefactor Author Benefactor Share Posted February 15 (edited) I see the date now. Yes, the year is 5, not 4. I was a bit confused since I was looking for the usual two character combination for the date. It is interesting that the year is spelled out. Benefactor DonnaML Posted February 15 · Benefactor Benefactor Share Posted February 15 (edited) 11 minutes ago, robinjojo said: Thanks. Where is the date located in the legend? You're welcome. It's the reverse legend ΕΤΟΥΣ ΠΕΜΠΤΟΥ. The first half means year, and the second half is the word for Fifth. On the one you posted, the second half is the word for Fourth. Benefactor robinjojo Posted February 15 · Benefactor Author Benefactor Share Posted February 15 Apparently this coin is fairly rare. Does anyone have other examples?
