Much of the Balkans was under Ottoman rule during the early modern period. In the 17th and 18th centuries, the Pannonia region witnessed fierce battles between Austria and the Ottoman Empire..On both sides there were many mercenaries from all sides, especially in the Austrian army..In this region you can find coins from France, England, Italy , the Netherlands, Germany, etc..
