All things nasty was about to kick off in this region. Power politics and Mithradates Vl Eupator finally made it so. All little kingdoms ready for forced assimilation with Rome adjudicating what was and was to be. It led to the end of Greek Koinon and the demise of the Roman Republic too.
Sulla80 Posted July 9, 2023 · Supporter Share Posted July 9, 2023 (edited) my notes on this coin are found here - along with an interesting portrait coin of Pylaemenes II/III: https://www.sullacoins.com/post/pylæmenes-ii-iii-euergetes both examples above are exceptional in my view, if anyone wants an especially high priced coin of this type see: https://www.vcoins.com/en/stores/shanna_schmidt_numismatics_inc/245/product/kings_of_paphlagonia_pylaimenes_iiiii_euergetes_c_133103_bc_ae_18/1197955/Default.aspx Edited July 9, 2023 by Sulla80

It's not that great (I like the OP coin better!), though admittedly a lot better than mine: On the other hand, mine was only 22 euros! 🤓 (It'll look better after I've given it a light cleaning.)
