TheTrachyEnjoyer Posted October 29, 2022 · Member Posted October 29, 2022 (edited) I wanted a way to display my late Byzantine without a tray shot so I attempted something a bit different. An old paper cover reference work gave them a nice background and I added some labels. Thoughts? The silver 1204 (well, more technically 1208 when Lascaris was actually crowned) to 1453 (more technically up to 1448 when John VIII died) My Thessalonican I will eventually photograph nicaean and palaeologan bronzes but I am afraid I dont have much that is impressive there Edited October 29, 2022 by TheTrachyEnjoyer 20 2 1 Quote
ewomack Posted October 29, 2022 · Supporter Posted October 29, 2022 That looks fantastic! I spent some time gazing at them in close-up. That's a fabulous collection! I have not explored this era of Byzantine coinage, but your posts definitely offer plenty of inspiration to begin. 3 Quote

quant.geek Posted October 30, 2022 · Member Posted October 30, 2022 Now that is cool and the old paper cover adds to the effect! Hmmm, might think about doing something like this, but I might put it over one of my vellum manuscripts for an extra effect, but more jumbled up like real change... 1 1 Quote
