I wanted a way to display my late Byzantine without a tray shot so I attempted something a bit different. An old paper cover reference work gave them a nice background and I added some labels. Thoughts?

1204 (well, more technically 1208 when Lascaris was actually crowned) to 1453 (more technically up to 1448 when John VIII died)

I will eventually photograph nicaean and palaeologan bronzes but I am afraid I dont have much that is impressive there

That looks fantastic! I spent some time gazing at them in close-up. That's a fabulous collection!

I have not explored this era of Byzantine coinage, but your posts definitely offer plenty of inspiration to begin.

Looks just like a museum display. Nice work.

Now that is cool and the old paper cover adds to the effect!  Hmmm, might think about doing something like this, but I might put it over one of my vellum manuscripts for an extra effect, but more jumbled up like real change...
