Ocatarinetabellatchitchix Posted October 17, 2022 · Member Share Posted October 17, 2022 If it’s the real thing, the last one I saw for sale by CNG went for over 4000 USD… But I saw coins of her that were in fact some Salonina re-engraved,and I think it was in LRB lots…
Benefactor Victor_Clark Posted October 17, 2022 · Benefactor Benefactor Share Posted October 17, 2022 It looks dubious...especially the way some of the obverse letters look crushed. There are lots of beat-up fake Zenobia coins floating around. 4

I'm just as good as I was the day I stopped being a Flavian as and was tooled into a Fake Alexandrian tetradrachm. My legends are clear and my face is strong (if a bit like Titus?).😁 BTW, I came with a NGC label from a failed attempt by a previous owner to have me slabbed. Those guys must get a chuckle out of some of the things people send in. 2 7
Harry G Posted October 18, 2022 · Member Share Posted October 18, 2022 I saw that coin when it original came up for sale, and didn't bid as I thought the style and lettering were a bit suspicious. There was also a similar follis of Alexander of Carthage with the same issues in the same auction
maridvnvm Posted October 18, 2022 · Member Share Posted October 18, 2022 (edited) I suspect that this is an old worn coin overstruck with modern dies that have been seeded into LRB lots. It looks very very similar to the dies on the following example. Edited October 18, 2022 by maridvnvm
