Kentucky Posted May 29, 2022 · Member Share Posted May 29, 2022 I have interests in coins other than ancient, so I will keep my CT membership, however since so many have switched, I am trying to be a dual citizen if I have ancient concerns. I recently won this on e-bay from a seller who had his location as Austria (memory93_antiques) but when I checked his page, he is in Bulgaria. This triggered some anticipation, so I thought I would ask the members here as to their opinion as to whether it is an authentic ancient coin or some sort of counterfeit.
Troyden Posted May 29, 2022 · Member Share Posted May 29, 2022 I looked up this seller. He's on ebay since 2014. If he hasn't since wound up on fakesellers' lists like those maintained by Forvm or augustuscoin, then he's not a confirmed fake peddler. The rule of thumb should let us assume he's a legit seller. However, even legit sellers sometimes let a fake slip through.

I don’t see any obvious issues with this coin @Kentucky. You’ll have to confirm in hand but it looks like there might be some hard deposits on the reverse that would be difficult to fake.
