Obv: AYTOKP KAIC NEP-TPAIANOC CЄB ΓЄPM; Laureate head of Trajan right; eagle standing right behind bust, club before, palm frond to upper left. Rev: ΔHMAPX-ЄΞ•YΠΛT•B; Laureate bust of Melkart-Herakles right, lion's skin tied at throat. Ref: Prieur 1477 (Tyre); McAlee 450 (Rare, same obverse die as 450/1); RPC III 3523 (same obverse die as 3523.14). Near Very Fine, nicely toned, slightly oblong flan, nice style for these. CNG note: Prieur labeled this coin as a variety of his no. 1477, as the eagle is standing behind the bust of Trajan, instead of below, but McAlee and the authors of RPC group all of the minor varieties for this type together.
