  5. the title reads : Imperatori Traiano Augusto Germanico Dacico Pontifici Maximo Tribuniciae Potestati Consuli V Patri Patriae. As @Roman Collector said, it is a dative of advantage for most words, except tribuniciae potestati is a dativus possesivus, meaning he has the potestas, patriae here is a genitive : of the country

  8. @catadc thanks very interesting. As historian of this period I know it is often difficult or impossible to be 100 % sure and I use for myself only scientific literature because I've seen to much mistakes on the web
  9. I think this article is very interesting. An Expert Opinion on Sponsianus - CoinsWeekly
  10. it is a tragic situation, but if the looting has been made by 'officials' and not individuals, then there is a possibility stolen objects will be given back.

Please, show your rare denarii,.
  13. that's a good year for your collection. The swords and spearheads are beautiful and interesting. I am sure you have now a representing collection, but go on. Personnaly, I prefer very nice potsherds, it is a very nice collection, there are really very nice sherds in terra sigillata and these pottery fragments are very interesting and important.
  14. very nice coin, I am waiting to see more and I am sure Elon Musk will be jealous of your collection. I have only 1 German coin from Wilhelm II, a 10 mark coin, I think I ve posted yet. I have never bought gold coins, all I have is from the family or as present. Most of the coins are 'new', from about 1900 to the sixties. So, as I said I am waiting now to see beautiful coins.
  15. I think the period is right, for the inscription : need time to read, but sa ra son of ra is a title, often used. As being hyksos, there is a goose, there is a ra at left and the ureaus indicates the king ( here not a normal version), I hope to give you more information.
  16. fantastic, show more please, this are not the coins I collect, but : a thing of beauty is a joy for ever
  17. only one comment in 3 letters : wow !!!!!!!!!!!!! go on, I love it ps: I hope the key @DonnaML has it is not a duplicate of yours, otherwise I buy a ticket to make a robbery 😃😄
  18. nice coin, but to date later. I don't know much of bronze republican coins, but I think you have to look much later, end second or first century
  19. the cartouche is : from left to right : men kheper ra Thoutmosis III, see here on 'posted 1 september. The date is possible, but it is impossible to confirm with this photos. You are right, even in this quality, it is a very nice piece
