I have several Max tetradrachms, but only a couple imperial issues.

I like this one because it is the same size as the old denarius, and even has the laureate crown.

I usually don't like fourrees because they are often really blotchy and unattractive. However, sometimes you find one that's just interesting enough to keep.

This Gordie has one side of silvering completely removed, while the other side retains almost all of it.

A very close inspection of the obverse shows some small bubble-looking marks. I wonder if this was caught in a fire that melted the silvering off?

Picked up these two.

First one is 17mm.
Obv: Helmeted Perseus(?) left.
Rev: Figure on horseback, galloping right.

This reminds me of some Macedonian issues, but I can't nail it down.

Next is 15mm.
Obv: Laureate bust left.
Rev: Farmer plowing with two cows or bulls.

Obverse sure looks like Antoninus Pius, but I couldn't find a match on Wildwinds. Then I remembered I once had a Tiberius coin with a similar reverse, but I can't find that reference either.

Back in grad school I did a deep dive into Puyi. Tragic character. Ruled China and Manchukuo without having truly ruled a single day. Became a common gardener after prison. Oh how the mighty have fallen.

The coin I posted is similar in style/artistry. And the legend fits, from what I see. 

Very true. For example Arcadius was pretty young so definitely not an elder on this coin. 5th c got pretty dang generic. Sometimes impossible to ID outside of marching up emperor specific reverse types and mints.

Hey all, my brother recently went to Jordan and picked up a couple coins for me, among them this M-follis.

There's plenty of obverse legend, but I can't quite make it out. I think I see a "MAN" somewhere, indicating Manuel I(?), but it's a tough one that's out of my wheelhouse.

Shame about the missing parts, but we can’t complain about having a largely complete gilded bronze! Probably less than a literal handful in existence.

A rule of thumb I’ve learned is that, if you have to crowdsource an opinion on authenticity, it’s probably not worth your time to begin with.

It’s astonishing that this survived this infant. There is another one, the Boarium Heracles found at the Forum Boarium which is rather similar. Seems to have been a somewhat popular type if two colossal gilded bronzes of a similar design survived.

The auction for the Anders Collection seemingly has every single coin at an estimate of L5, with opening bid of L3.

I would take R ratings with a grain of salt. These coins are only worth what a specialist collector would pay. Sometimes, a lot. More often, not so much.

These two coins, Commodus and Leo I, were both found in large lots at less than $1 each.

I recently came into a large lot of various silver Islamic, Turkish, and Indian coins. ID is literally beyond me. I don't even know which way is up.

I think this is an Indian 1/8 rupee, but beyond that is anybody's guess...

Same reason a 1836 large cent costs $20 for a circulated one while an 1836 penny costs $2 in the same condition… supply and demand, and for whatever reason everybody in America only wants to collect American coins, driving the prices up 

How about a provincial version?

Approximately As-sized, at 26mm. I wonder if it had the same buyer power.
