Hey @Alegandron I find cool new types every time I start browsing World coins. So many countries and 500? years or so of history. Not sure what the conventional cut-off date is between Medieval and World? John

Last one for today: 1947 Panama 1 Balboa - Vasco Nunez de Balboa – Silver (KM-13) Look at all the Roman motifs on the reverse. A beautiful and large coin for less than $100. I really know little about World coins so there is a lot of exciting new stuff to learn. John

Here is another one: Germany. Frankfurt. Vereinstaler 1860. Dav. 649. I love the detailed engraving of her hair and shawl. Her expression reminds me of some of the Syracuse tetradrachms. John

I have gotten really interested in crown sized world silver. There are so many artistic types and they are reasonably affordable. I am going to try to cut and paste my picture and text catalog entry directly from Word. The head of Artemis wearing a stephane is a pretty scarce type in the Seleucid series, which made it easier to spot. I started with the assumption the reverse was Nike and wasn't having any luck. Then I just started paging through Hoover and just randomly found it. Lol. So no great skill involved. I really like the patina on this type and it seems pretty common for coins from that region. John
