An attractive silver dirham of the Seljuks of Rum
Alegandron replied to Parthicus's topic in Non-Western
I plan to. I am in the process of adjusting to retirement and life changes. I plan to finally execute my project of thoroughly cataloging and reshooting my collection. Going to redo my office for my collection projects. I may even look to sell some of my lower interest categories in 2025… dunno yet. -

LOL, nope not inebriated. I may have one, maybe two beers a month, anymore. You need to see more of this guy’s work. His schtick is hilarious as a clown, but his voice is great. He has done songs without the makeup. -

Since coins were not minted prior to 650 BCE or so, and the Egyptians were WAY late to the coin party, I have been collecting a few Scarabaei to capture landmarks in their History. Pharaoh Thuthmosis III The Great Egypt SCARAB Thuthmosis III ca 1504-1450 BCE ex CNG ex Hendin -

In the case of the Carthage 15 Shekel coin, I found this info… Hannibal issued it (after losing to Scipio at Zama), when he was organizing Carthage's finances after the 2nd Punic War. Hannibal was scrambling to pay the massive Roman War indemnities. I like to personally call these very scarce coins the ZAMA since no one truly knows what they were called at the time. These were probly produced to ship to Rome, then they (Roma) may had melted them down to convert into their currency. My thoughts.
