KARABANXELERO Posted April 10 · Member Share Posted April 10 Hi, I can't find any information about this coin, is different to the commemorative and replicas you can find. I read about the existence of two bronze patterns pieces, also a trial piece in copper, so do you think it's possible that this was a silver pattern?
sand Posted April 10 · Member Share Posted April 10 Hello @KARABANXELERO. Welcome to Nvmis Forvms. I collect US coins, as well as ancient coins, medieval coins, and world coins. I'm familiar with the 1851 Augustus Humbert $50 private gold coin. The coin in question, looks very similar to the Humbert, but obviously it's not gold. Unfortunately, that's where my knowledge ends. However, there are many knowledgeable collectors on Nvmis Forvms. Hopefully, someone will know more, about the coin. Do you know the diameter and weight of the coin? Is the coin attracted to a magnet?
