Amarmur Posted January 28 · Member Posted January 28 Hi picked these up at a coin show for $10 each unidentified ancients. 1. Julio-Claudian Roman provincial with lightning bolt on the reverse. Claudius or Augustus my guess. 2. I think this Augustus from Phyrigia has a look like it's Roman provincial from Phyrigia. Will be super happy if ends up Caligula but I doubt it. 3. Nice prancing horse I think it's Greek from Aeolis or Syracuse 4. My personal favorite of the ones I picked up. Distinctly Flavian portrait with Nike on the reverse. Not sure what province it's from. 4 Quote

Curtis JJ Posted January 28 · Supporter Posted January 28 I think the bottom one is Domitian from Iconium. Notice the obverse legend runs counter clockwise, start with DOM running from 6h toward 3h. On the reverse, I think we can see the KLAVD in the legend running in the same direction from the same position: https://rpc.ashmus.ox.ac.uk/coins/2/1608A 2 Quote
