expat Posted December 31, 2023 · Supporter Posted December 31, 2023 I think it would be good to see examples by alphabetical order of mints. John Conduitt Posted December 31, 2023 · Supporter Posted December 31, 2023 Camulodunum and Clausentum are the same mint - no-one knows where the 'C' mint is but more likely the latter. Unless you accept Celtic coins, in which case Camulodunum is different 😉 You might also need (depending on what counts as the Roman Empire): Carnuntum Laodicea ad Mare Moguntiacum/Mainz Rouen Samosata Tarragona/Tarraco Tripolis Viminacium and a few more on Ocre. 4 1 Quote
expat Posted December 31, 2023 · Supporter Author Posted December 31, 2023 @John Conduitt thank you for that. If we go ahead with this, I will add any mints that are notified to me. Quote
Benefactor kirispupis Posted December 31, 2023 · Benefactor Benefactor Posted December 31, 2023 If I recall, there were more than a thousand Roman mints. In terms of Greek mints I believe there are between 700 and 1000. 3 3 Quote
shanxi Posted December 31, 2023 · Supporter Posted December 31, 2023 (edited) In another forum there is a "mint game" that has been running quite well for some time now. The goal is to post a coin from a mint that begins with the last letter of the previous one. There are no restrictions. Mints from all over the world and from any period can be chosen. The game has the advantage that you don't need a list and surprising results also appear. Edited December 31, 2023 by shanxi 4 1 Quote

With 2 days per mint we would be looking at at over 4 years to complete the thread. 3 minutes ago, shanxi said: In another forum there is a "mint game" that has been running quite well for some time now. Benefactor kirispupis Posted December 31, 2023 · Benefactor Benefactor Posted December 31, 2023 Another alternative is to go by region - Mysia, Campania, Gaul, Troas, etc 2 Quote
