hotwheelsearl Posted July 3, 2022 · Member Share Posted July 3, 2022 This coin is beat to death, and is proving difficult. My gut feeling is Otacilla Severa, but it's tough. Reverse has a Zeus of Artemision-style pose. It's about 26mm.
Roman Collector Posted July 3, 2022 · Patron Share Posted July 3, 2022 (edited) Looks more like Julia Domna's hairstyle and I think I see "...OVΛI .." on the obverse legend to the left of the portrait, which suggests it reads IOVΛIA. Possibly Nike advancing right on the reverse. Edited July 3, 2022 by Roman Collector Clarification
septim Posted July 3, 2022 · Member Share Posted July 3, 2022 The portrait strongly reminds me of Sebastopolis/Herakleopolis; was not able however to find a matching reverse. 😞
septim Posted July 3, 2022 · Member Share Posted July 3, 2022 Forgot to mention: Julia Domna in my opinion.
ambr0zie Posted July 3, 2022 · Member Share Posted July 3, 2022 (edited) I agree the portrait is Julia Domna. The reverse is too worn for me to distinguish 100% something but the stance on the reverse makes me think of this PHRYGIA. Hadrianopolis. SNG von Aulock 3608; SNG Copenhagen 406; BMC 2. Not a match though (obv legend different) Edited July 3, 2022 by ambr0zie
