Deinomenid Posted September 11, 2023 · Supporter Share Posted September 11, 2023 The so-called Prince apparently has the right at Monaco auctions to match your winning bid at auction. I was just admiring the eye candy at an October auction and saw a warning about non-EU purchasers, so read the terms and came across this. 8. THE PRINCIPALITY OF MONACO HAS A PREEMPTIVE RIGHT TO THE COINS SOLD IN ACCORDANCE WITH CURRENT LAWS. THE EXERCISE OF THIS RIGHT COMES IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE FALL OF THE HAMMER, IF THE REPRESENTATIVE OF THE PRINCIPALITY EXPRESSES THEN THE WILL TO REPLACE THE HIGHEST BIDDER, AND HE CONFIRMS THIS WILL WITHIN 15 DAYS. EDITIONS V. GADOURY WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE PREEMPTION OF THE PRINCIPALITY. Guess I need to read terms more carefully in future. Cue the Gadsden flag.... 1 1 2 1

Roman Collector Posted September 11, 2023 · Patron Share Posted September 11, 2023 (edited) When Princess Stephanie and I were each about 15 or 16, I wrote a letter to her and literally asked her out on a date if she were ever in my hometown here in the US. I suspect that shenanigans like this prevented her from accepting my offer. Edited September 11, 2023 by Roman Collector 2
